“ Brand: The Tasty Bakery Company / Type: Breads/Cakes „
I had never seen these before, but spotted them on 1 of the end aisles in my local Sainsburys price at £1 for the 4 large enough Muffins. Seemed like an alright buy and with the name of them I wasn't sure if it was a more expensive brand, ot a cheaper brand trying to look more expensive. I do like Muffins, so am always tempted to buy some when they catch my eye anyway. Chocolate Orange? Although a flavouring I do like in Biscuits and Cake Bars, it is normally either blueberry, or Chocolate Chip I go for with Muffins. I probably need to broaden my horizons and so tried these with an open mind. You could see the Muffin with the cellophane packaging that they are in. They looked a decent enough size, and although they seemed wide enough, they perhaps weren't so puffed up on the top as other Muffins i've had were. Looking on the back of the pack I see that these have 222 calories per Muffin. Sounds a bit less than other ones, so they could well have been smaller. After biting into 1 of these, I could taste the Chocolate Orange in them. The Muffin was a bit crisp on the top. i wouldn't say it was a stale type of taste, but it was just a bit dry. The inside of this was nice and crumbly and the Chocolate Chips seemed to be mixed through this nice. The orange flavouring smelt quite strong but wasn't that strong when you were eating this. All in all an alright Muffin. As I mentioned I quite like Chocolate and Orange together, but I think Chocolate Chip and Blueberry will stay my more favourite ones. Worth perhaps trying for the £1 price tag.
