I love a breakfast bar as a quick pick me up throughout the day, and these Geo bars are no exception!
The box is a lovely deep purple with appealing pictures of chocolate, wheat and grapes on the front, however the picture makes it look like you get more chocolate than you are in for! It has the classic fair-trade logo to let you know you're supporting third world farmers who have worked hard to supply us with these ingredients, and a recently reinvented design on the front of a gold silhouette of some hills with a couple of farmers working.
As of recently, Geo bars have been downgraded to include only 5 bars per pack, which puts off some buyers from purchasing it in favour of bigger packs. The bar itself is a reasonable snack size - not too big not too little, which is perfect for me to take and eat on the go or simply have a snack at home. It is made up of mostly chocolaty cereal with a few nuts sprung in there to keep it crunchy and for good taste, and then draped in very sweet honey. To add to the sweetness even more, raisins are placed strategically throughout the bar, giving you another wave of sweetness just before you've gotten over the last. Just like kittens with bows, this is much too sweet for me; I prefer something more savoury from a breakfast bar. I was disappointed that there was no actual chocolate on the bar, just chocolate flavoured cereal.
I got these for only £1 at ASDA, so they're going for 20p a bar which is about middle ground when it comes to price, and a price I would pay again if I were to buy them.
Perfect for those wanting to satisfy a sweet tooth craving without all the calories of chocolate and without breaking the bank at only £1 for 5 either!
As a bid to eat better, and to be healthy, I asked my mum to get me a selection of cereal bars from the supermarket as a low fat treat.
These gorgeous bars were included in the selection. And I am so glad they were!

Guarantees a better deal for Third World Producers.
Whether it's fruit or chocolate that floats your boat, our most popular Geobar has it all. Juicy South African raisins and golden Zambian honey kick-start a flavour-burst infused with the smooth taste of sensuous chocolate. Indulgence without the guilt.
Denver, Lucien and Alvin aren't aware of the difference fair trade is making in their lives. But their mother, Lennie Coetzee, is. She works at Eksteenskuil Farmers Association, South Africa, where Geobar sources its raisins. "Like any mother with growing children, I want a better future for them. Selling our raisins on Fairtrade terms is making it possible."
Thanks for buying this product.

There is a bright purple box with images of chocolate, grapes and of course the actual cereal bar itself. As well as the images, there is the fair trade mark on the top left corner. When opened contains six individually wrapped bars. These individual wrappers all contain the nutrition, ingredients and fairtrade mark. I find it unusual that the ingredients and nutritional values are on the bar, as most individual packages do not, as they are multipacks.

There is a predominantly chocolate taste, at first, but very quickly we get a kick of raisin which is much stronger. These are great for curbing any chocolate cravings with an extra finesse of the raisins! The texture of the bars are quite soft I suppose. The puffed rice in the bar makes it obviously more crispy than chocolate, but it's not chewy like special K bars, its more of a nice soft bite.

Thanks for reading!
I do like a nice cereal bar and after the gym in-particular as I'm always hungry and I find them an easy thing to munch on and healthier than a bar of much wanted chocolate or something 'naughty' lol.
Purple coloured box and on the front I'm told that they of course are Geobar and that they are chocolate flavoured. At the bottom of the box there is an at a glance nutritional chart and again I'm told that there are 6 Fair Trade Raisin & Chocolate Cereal Bars. On the back of the box I'm told a bit about the bars, nutritional advice, ingredients and allergy advice is given, size is stated and that's it really. Nice box which is informative enough and the foil wrappers which the bars are individually wrapped in looks pretty much the same as the box they come in.
A Bit About Fairtrade:
Making A World Of Difference.
With a delicious mix of Fairtrade ingredients - cocoa, raisins, rice and honey. - Traidcraft Geobars combine ingredients sourced from small-scale farmers around the globe, making a world of difference to their future.
Suitable for Vegetarians.
Not very big, fairly flat and they are slightly sticky to the touch and brown in colour with a nice glaze to them and a smell of chocolate with visible
, plump raisins in them.
Taste-wise I can't rave about them really. Slightly sticky to the taste with an overall taste of chocolate to them which is light with a taste of wheat and crispy rice. They are dense and don't have much of a crunch to them however they they are not filling and do beat off sweet cravings rather well.
Nothing wrong with them at all, they do have a natural feel to them and a feel good feel it is really. However at £1.89 a box of 6 I personally feel that the price is too high if I'm honest. They are not chocolaty enough for me and certainly not fruity enough and do lack a natural sweetness and actually have a fake added one.
