The crisps are very strong in taste you can especially taste the sping onion. These are my favourite crisps, i also like the thai sweet chilli flavour. My teenage children also love these crisps too and they really do not last very long in our house. These crisps are suitable for vegatarians. I'm back on a diet... yes again but my biggest downfall is crisps. I love crisps. So whilst in Poundland last week I came across these ~ Velvet Crunch. Velvet Crunch are a cheddar cheese and spring onion flavour savoury snack. They have just 83 calories per pack and have 70% less fat than standard crisps. I paid £1 for a mutipack of 6. Upon reading the packet I was surprised that not only are they not potato but not rice cake either but Cassava, now until I got home I had no idea what cassava was so I googled it. Description of the Cassava plant for those who don't know (taken from wiki) ~ The cassava root is long and tapered, ...  Read the complete review

I bought Velvet Crunch while they were on offer. I had never tried them before and was slightly dubious about them; however it was two multipacks for a pound so I thought I'd give it a go! It was certainly worth it because now my whole family is hooked. Although they are still a snack food and not as healthy as say, an apple, I feel that in moving away from eating full fat crisps, we are all making a slightly healthier chice shich will be better for us in general. It's not ground breaking but for something which could be deemed as "diet food" these little guys have been fully accepted into our collective family stomach! ~~~ Package ~~~ Velvet ...  Read the complete review

I always watch what I eat so was pleased when I noticed a new product appear on the shelves of my local Tesco, in the shape of these Velvet Crunch snacks. ~ What are they? ~ Velvet crunch are a cheddar cheese and spring onion flavoured snack, similar in my opinion to rice cakes only thinner and smaller. They are made from the Brazilian Cassava plant - something I had not heard of before trying these! ~ The Packaging ~ These crisp like snacks come in a multipack of 6 individually wrapped 20g bags. I personally think the colours and images on the packaging are quite attractive, at least it must have been for me to notice ...  Read the complete review

Recently I've been attempting to eat healthily on slimming world . I was really missing my savoury snacks, so I was happy to see these crisps in my local Sainsburysm my attention drawn to the info on the bag telling me that a bag of these was 83 calories . After looking at the bag a little more closely , I noticed something else - these were made from cassava, not potato. Cassava is a plant with an edible root and leaves, and the root is used to make tapioca. The plant is used in a similar way to potato, and is similar nutritionally except that it contains twice the fibre and more pottasium . I'm all for trying something new, so was not at all put ...  Read the complete review

I bought these new 'Velvet Crunch' snacks from the King brand as a healthier alternative to a packet of crisps and they really hit the spot. Apparantly the reason why they are so healthy is because they are made from the Brazillian Cassava plant- a low carb alternative to a potato- Very exotic! Priced at a very reasonable £1.26 for 6 packets, you really can't go wrong! One of the best selling points of these great snacks is the low calorie and fat content per bag. (83 Kcal, 2g Fat(0.2 Sat Fat), 0.4g salt). If you follow the weight watcher points scheme then it will only cost you 1 point! Although these snacks are suitable for ...  Read the complete review
