      It's Pancake Day..... Go Nuts!!!

It's pancake day today so I bet you're all sorting your frying pans out at the minute, don't forget the toppings though because that's what makes a pancake for me. I love the traditional lemon and sugar topping but when we made some pancakes on Saturday night we decided to go the whole hog and make them a bit more special.

One thing my mum did was put some vanilla ice cream on top of her pancake and then sprinkled some of these Roasted Chopped Hazelnuts on the top. They're from Waitrose and it's not somewhere we go shopping that often so she must have picked them up before Xmas.

They come in a 100g bag and cost £1.69, I've never brought these nuts before but think that seems a good price because the bag is full of nuts and you only need a few each time you use them.

They are chopped quite small and the nuts smell gorgeous when I open the bag. They look good too and aren't all dusty like what happens when you get them from the ice cream man sometimes. These hazelnuts taste mega fresh and are chopped so that the edges are nice and smooth and don't stab your gums! lol

They went wicked with the ice cream and pancakes because the nuts have got such a smooth buttery texture and a proper natural flavour that means they taste like WHOLE hazelnuts.... only smaller!!!

There was no bits of shells or anything in the bag and the last few at the bottom wasn't covered in dust or bashed to pieces. They're just a very nice bag of chopped hazelnuts that are perfect for cooking and I reckon these nuts would go wicked in homemade cookies.

Recommended.... delish hazelnut pieces that are ideal for cooking and even sprinkling onto ice cream when you have pancakes!!!
