Advantages: Cheap, lots of taste
Disadvantages: Bit too crunchy
As my boyfriend is on a diet, we were on the lookout for healthier options he could snack on through out the day whilst doing our weekly shop. We spotted these walkers baked, we had never seen them before and on the front they were claiming to have 70% less fat.
We looked at the calorie content of these crisps and suprisingly they only contain 99 calories per serving, which we assume to be per bag! That is less than a kit kat at 107 calories and these are twice as filling!
We bought these walkers baked crisps in cheese and onion flavour in a pack of 6 bags. They are on offer in tesco at the moment, any two bags for £2.50 which is a bargain! Thats £1.25 per bag, and only about 21p per bag! They are such a cheap snack!
They come in a variety of flavours including cheese and onion, ready salted, salt and vinegar, sour cream and chive.
These baked crisps remind me of pringles, they have a very similar taste. They are a lot thicker than normal crisps, and very crunchy. Sometimes they are a bit too hard and i find they hurt my teeth to bite into. They have lots of flavour, walkers have deffinately not comprised any flavour to make these more healthy!
On the pack they explain how they are healthier - 70% less fat, 50% of that is less saturated fat, which we are always being advised to cut down on! Walkers supports the Food Standards Agency campaign to lower saturated fat consumption. They also advertise a website to visit, to learn more on how to eat a more healthy balanced diet - www.eatwell.gov.uk
You should store these crisps in a cool dry place. These crisps are free from artificial colours, preservatives and MSG (Glutamate).
Overall, if your looking to loose weight and dont want to completely cut out all your favourite foods, then try these as a snack as part of your balanced diet!
Summary: Highly recommended crisps!
