Advantages: Gorgeous yummy taste
I love crisps and could easily eat a couple of bags a day. But as they are not the healthiest of treats i usually have about one or two packets a week which is probably still a bit too much. Salt and Vinegar is my favourite flavour and Walkers is my favourite brand of crisps as they contain so much flavour, so that is what i will be doing my review on.
A 34.5g standard packet of Walkers salt and vinegar crisps costs 55p and contains 180 calories, 0.3g of sugar, 11.4g of fat of which saturates 0.9g, and 0.67g of salt- all of which is printed on the front of the packet. As you can see, it isn't healthy to eat a packet every day, but to eat now and again as part of a healthy balanced diet you can't beat this product for sheer deliciousness.
The packet is green, other flavours are different colours for example Walkers cheese and onion flavour is in a blue packet, ready salted is red. All the flavours have the same Walkers sign and a picture of a potato morphing into crisps on the front.
If you are feeling very naughty you can get a bigger size which has 'Grab a Bag' on the front. I hardly ever get these as i feel a bit of a fatty if i do, as the calories are 280ish from what i can remember........eeeek.
They can also be bought as multi packs in supermarkets where you get about 6-12 in a packet.
A 34.5g packet can be bought pretty much anywhere- newsagents, supermarkets, i even bought a packet from Boots today.
When you open a packet you are hit with a strong aroma of mostly vinegar. The crisps are not too big or too small, they are a good shape and are a nice light golden colour and dont look or feel oily in anyway. They have a satisfying crunch when you put them in your mouth and are so yummy.
I have found many crisps of this flavour to be too salty, too vinegary, too bland where they don't taste of anything, then there are some that make your eyes water because there is too much flavour. These are just perfect. You can taste both the vinegar and salt and they complement each other perfectly - it is a taste sensation.
During the day they go perfectly with a can of diet coke and in the evening when i am feeling particularly naughty they are delicious eaten with a glass of white wine. A crisp sandwich is also a winner as well.
Summary: Love it
