Our youngest son definitely takes after me with his love for everything crisp. Our house constantly has a supply of various flavours of crisps. Although there is a mixture of brands in our crisp cupboard you will always find some Walkers. The flavours offered by Walkers crisps are unbeatable. My eldest child loves Prawn Cocktail (can't stand the stuff myself), my youngest and partner will eat just about anything and as for me I like the BBQ ones.
Suddenly whilst doing the weekly shop a few months ago I came across a pack I'd not seen before. It read "New Flavour" across the top but to me this flavour isn't new! It's one I grew up with. Almost every crisp brand in the States makes a sour cream and onion flavour. Not as common in the UK. I have found the odd pack in M&S. Everyone please welcome to UK shelves Sour Cream & Onion!
It's ridiculous how excited I got when I saw the pack. This tan coloured Walkers crisp pack was within moments chucked into the trolley and on its way to my home. I'm afraid I become a bit childlike when I come across certain foods that remind me of my childhood. You should see me when I go to the American foods shops. I'm a total nightmare!
Needless to say when we got home I put the shopping away and quickly got started on lunch so that I could have some of my new crisps. First things first, I opened one of the bags from my multipack and where have all the crisps gone??? The pack was barely half full!
Moving on ... the moment I opened the pack I was welcomed by a strong onion fragrance. I had high hopes for the taste after that and thankfully they lived up to them. I have found sadly that not every pack has the same abundance of flavour but oh well move on to the next.
Not to everyone's taste but if you've got taste buds like mine try putting some into a cheese sandwich. Yum Yum!
Recommended by me! Pick some up on your next shopping trip. 3 packs for £3.50 at Sainsburys so mix and match!
