... average pack of crisps. They are actually called "wholegrain crispy snacks" rather than crisps because technically they are not crisps. They contain one third of the recommended daily amount of wholegrain, have no artificial colours, flavours or preservatives, and contain 30% less fat than regular crisps. A bag contains 120 calories, 5.4g fat, 0.6g saturates, 1.7g fibre and 0.24g salt. Although they are around the same calories as, say, a pack of low fat crisps, they also contain a lot of goodness, an...more

Walkers Sunbites Roasted Onion & Rosemary: Crispy crisps made with whole grains, full of flavour and go ... (509 words)

Always on the look out for lower calorie and lower fat forms of crisps I have purchased these a few times and found myself favouring them over snack a jacks recently. They can usually be found in the crisps and snack isle in the supermarket close to the walkers baked and weight watchers crisps - so you usually have a range of low fat ones to choose from. I purchased two multi pack bags of 6 today in Sainsburys as they were on the offer of 2 for £2.20. Which was a bargain as each 25g packet works out at just over 18p! One of those multi packs was the Oven Roasted Onion & Rosemary flavour. Each 25g packet contains: 117 ...  Read the complete review

I'm having a bit of an unorganised week and didn't have any food in the house for breakfast. I went into town, and when I was walking around Boots, decided to get myself a meal deal. Along with my sandwich and bottle of water, I struggled to find a third item. After a bit of perusing, I spotted Walkers SunBites. I have seen these before, but never tried them, so I decided I'd give them a go, and picked up a packet of the oven roasted onion and rosemary flavour. ~About the product~ These are a wholegrain snack. Walkers state that they contain 67% wholegrain, which apparently means they are bursting with goodness. Like other Walkers products, they are ...  Read the complete review

Walkers Sunbites Roasted Onion & Rosemary: Healthier alternative to crisps (448 words)

As any regular reader of my reviews will tell you, I love crisps. They are my one weakness, actually that's a lie, they're one of several weaknesses! Last week, however, we were doing some Christmas food shopping in Tesco and seeing all the calories we'd be consuming over the Christmas break, we decided to try and put some healthier things in our lunchboxes in the run up to Christmas. These wholegrain crispy snacks were on offer costing £2.50 for two packs of 6. At full price they're £1.58 for a pack of 6, which still works out around 26p per bag, not bad by today's standards. The main benefit of these wholegrain snacks is that they are much better for you ...  Read the complete review

As you can tell from my previous reviews, I'm a bit of a crisp-aholic - I eat at least one bag most days, so am always on the lookout for something a little bit healthier, or something unusual. I paid £1.37 for a 6-bag multipack in Tesco, but are often on offer at £2 for £2 - not the cheapest crisps ever but comparable with other kinds. I love savoury flavours, so was tempted by the prospect of 'Oven-roasted onion and rosemary' - it was a combination of this, the attractive green packaging and prominent mention of Wholegrains on the bag which convinced me that these would probably be tasty as well as healthy. When I opened the bag, it didn't seem ...  Read the complete review

Walkers Sunbites Roasted Onion and Rosemary: Trying to eat healthily, I have bought a big packet of these to help me cut back on the other junk food I used to have before Christmas! So, I haven't cut out crisps completely, I have just replaced the brands that I thought were fattening. The reason why I picked these out of the other packets available is because the flavour sounded really nice and quite out of the ordinary. Sunbites are actually not crisps they are a wholegrain snack! They are bursting with the goodness of wholegrain and they contain more than 1/3 of the suggested daily amount of whole grains. These are oven roasted onion and rosemary. ...  Read the complete review
