~ THE CRUMPETS ~
The crumpets are made by Warburtons who are a well-known family bakers and make a large range of bakery products including bread and rolls. Their products can be found in all good supermarkets and local shops.

The 6 crumpets sit in a cardboard sleeve which is orange in colour and has a yellow sun on. It also states that the product is made by Warburtons and that they are a family bakers. The crumpets are then sealed in plastic packaging to keep them fresh. The cardboard sleeve only covers the bottom and sides of the crumpets so you can actually see the crumpets through the plastic wrapper. The crumpets are a very light colour with some brown colour to the top of them. On the bottom of the cardboard sleeve you will find nutritional information, a list of ingredients, allergy advice, storage instructions and contact details, should you have any problems.
When you open the plastic wrapper you can smell a bakery type smell that smells fresh and mouth-watering. The crumpets feel a little rubbery when taking them out of the packet. They are approximately 2cm thick and are a nice round shape, probably the size of a standard cello tape roll or maybe slightly smaller. They are a light brown on the bottom of the crumpets and have lots of holes all over the top.

~ COOKING THE CRUMPETS ~
I cooked the crumpets following the serving suggestion which is printed on the cardboard sleeve. I placed them under a preheated hot grill for 3-4 minutes turning once until crisp on both sides. I then served them hot with butter.

The crumpets were easy to cook and only took a few minutes. They smelt delicious as they cooked as I put the butter on it melted into the holes in the tops of the crumpets. The crumpets felt a little firmer now they have been cooked. I took my first bite into the crumpet and my teeth sank into the spongy crumpet. It felt soft and fluffy in my mouth and the melted butter added to the taste making it very moreish and enjoyable. I had 2 crumpets and found this to be enough to fill me up. I certainly couldn't eat any more than this as it would make me feel too bloated. The 2 crumpets were satisfying and kept me full until lunch-time or just after.

~ STORAGE ~
Once opened store in a cool, dry place and eat within 2 days. These are kept longer if they are not refrigerated. If kept in a warm place the life of the crumpets will be reduced.

~ PRICE/AVALIABILITY ~
I purchased the crumpets from my local Co-Op store for 90p; how-ever you can also buy these from supermarkets and other local shops. Prices may vary in different stores.

~ OVERALL OPINION ~
I don't often have crumpets and tend to only have these as a little treat every few months. The crumpets were fluffy and tasted lovely with butter, and they kept me full up until lunch-time. For 90p I also think they are very good value and would definitely buy these again. I think the only downside to the product is the high salt content, how-ever as I don't eat these much this isn't something I'm too bothered about anyway. I give these delicious crumpets 4 out of 5 stars and recommend them to others to try.
