Advantages: Top quality
Disadvantages: Too mourish to just eat one
I tend not to buy treats in multipacks mainly because they're too much of a temptation once opened but having recently seen these advertised sponsoring 'Grey's Anatomy' I thought I'd check these out.
My local supermarket had 5 varieties for sale, 2 'normal' and 3 'light' ones. As I like fruit, nut and chocolate the Alpen Fruit and Nut with Chocolate seemed the obvious choice.
They are made in England by Weetabix and say ' they have been creating their 'Alpen' recipes for nearly 40 years'.
They come in a slender recyclable box with a brown 'alpine' scene; different to that pictured above. There are 5 x 29g bars in each box priced at £1.47.
Each bar is individually wrapped in a foil packet with a similar design to the external box.
Each bar is about 3" in length although I understand that if you buy the individual bars these are bigger but I'm pleased to report that they looked exactly as the picture on the outer box.
The taste and texture of this product was divine and once tasted it was very hard not to have another one. The combination of cereal, fruit and of course chocolate just melted in the mouth. There was just the right amount of chewiness; you didn't spend the next half hour trying to remove what was left from around your teeth.

As you can see the calories aren't that bad if you can manage to eat just one but having a quick read of the light ones I think they came out at about 65-70 calories a bar so a good excuse to have more than one.
A top quality product, can't fault the taste and although the bars look a bit on the small side they make up for this by the fact that they are a very satisfying treat.
Highly recommended.
