===The front label on my bottle is slightly different to the image above but still the same colours===
Avon Senses is a range of bath products.
The one I am reviewing is Lagoon.
'Plunge your senses into a refreshing scent.'
Refreshing and made with waterfruits and pear.
300 ml clear plastic bottle with aqua blue pump action top - secured with a clear plastic pump being activated by accident.
Front label has an image of a beach, palm trees and the sea.
Aqua turquoise blue coloured liquid.
The gel is made in Poland.
Among the ingredients are glycerine, alcohol denat and parfum.
Avon also sell a shower gel in the same fragrance.
£2 full price but often on offer and are now 3 for £5.
Avon's website states - 'Milder than soap. Gently cleanses. Contains Vitamin E. Dermatologically tested. pH balanced'.
Well one of the best things about these hand washes in my opinion is that you can buy one that suits the colour of your bathroom - they are lovely bright shades and this one is a very fetching shade of aqua blue.
To use you have to remove the clear plastic ring around the bottle's neck which stops the pump being activated in transit.
Then, if I have it correct, you turn the top of the pump 45 degrees which allows it to be depressed and the contents pumped up.
However with our bottle we failed to get the pump to activate at all - we tried turning and pressing but all to no avail - even my son, the technical one, gave up.
Anyway not to be outdone I decanted the contents into another empty hand wash bottle so was able to use it all right - but there must be a fault there somewhere.
Anyway the get is a lovely thick clear aqua blue - which matched the top pump of the bottle and the tranquil scene on the front label. The back label is also an aqua blue.
Now apart from the faulty bottle I would say this is my favourite Senses hand wash so far. All the others have been rather average but this one was lovely to use, it cleaned and rinsed well and left my hands feeling nice and smooth. I also loved the smell, which, though not too strong, did linger on my hands for a little while afterwards - but not so strong a smell that it would spoil you eating with your fingers - if you see what I mean.
The 300 ml bottle lasts a long time and is definitely unisex - the smell is a sort of ozony and fruity smell - though why a Lagoon fragrance would contain pear and waterfruits I am not so sure - as I would expect one with sea and beaches on the label to smell more of the sea and less of fruits - but actually I was pleasantly surprised and loved this one.
4 stars - really like this one but one star removed as my pump did not work.
===Would I Recommend?===
Yes, when on offer.
* INFO & PRODUCT DETAILS.. *
I am a big fan of most of the products from the 'Senses' range at Avon, which is a range containing various scented shower gel and bath products, as well as a co-ordinating range of liquid soaps. Having tried most of the liquid soap products from the range in the past, I have a few firm favourites, one of which is the "Lagoon" soap.
The Lagoon Liquid Soap is only available in one size of bottle which is 300ml. The normal price for this product is around the £2 mark but there are frequent promotional offers to be found in the Avon Senses range, and I am able to regularly purchase the soap for less than this price, or buy several liquid soap products within the range for a reduced sum. There is a matching 'Lagoon' shower gel product in the Avon Senses range that is available in two sizes - 250ml & 500ml, with prices starting from the £2 mark.
As @ the time of writing (July 2012), the Senses Lagoon Liquid Soap is available for only £1.50 on the Avon website (to be found at www.avonshop.co.uk), which I think is a great value for money price, particularly as the plastic bottle is larger than most other brands of soap that I buy regularly. The bottle tends to last a good couple of weeks in my household, even though it is used several times throughout the day, so I do feel happy that the purchase is a fairly economical one.
The Lagoon soap is packaged in a clear plastic bottle, and there is a sturdy plastic 'pump' dispenser in a turquoise or 'aqua' colour on top of the bottle which requires the smallest of pushes to dispense the liquid into my palm. The plastic bottle has an attractive-looking label on the front which depicts an image of a sort of tranquil-looking lagoon/beach scene which is in keeping with the name of the product and its appearance overall. The words "Refreshing Waterfruits & Pear" are printed on the front of the label underneath the product name, and I thought all of this combined nicely with the product to give it a rather innovative image. (It may be worth noting that the product has recently had a bit of a 'revamp' in terms of the bottle's label, and it no longer looks like the product at the top of the Dooyoo page here, but the general 'theme' and overall appearance are very similar and the soap itself is identical..)
* MY EXPERIENCE... *
I have found that the pump dispenser on top of the product's bottle is adequate at dispensing just the right amount of product into my open palm. There is seldom any waste, which is something that can not be said of every similar product that I regularly use. I find also that the 'nozzle' on the pump causes nothing in the way of dribbling or mess after use, which is another little annoyance to be found with rival brands.
The Lagoon liquid soap is a pale turquoise colour and so it co-ordinates perfectly with the blue and turquoise themes in my bathroom. The liquid is see-through and is quite thin in its consistency, although it is not so thin as to dribble and run all over the place when the soap is being used.
The Lagoon soap's fragrance is extremely pleasant, being quite fruity in its aroma. I find the pear in the product's fragrance really comes through easily and seems to combine with something else which reminds me of apple. The fragrances work well together to give a slightly refreshing scent which lasts for a short time on the skin without being overpowering. I like the way the Lagoon's scent offers something a little different to other fragranced soap products that I regularly purchase and again, I would say the product is quite an innovative one.
I find too that the fragrance is quite 'unisex' so I have had no grumbles from my other half, which is not always the case when it comes to soap products! I think some soaps seem to have a rather strong 'floral' tone throughout them which don't overly appeal to me anyway, but are a complete no-no where my husband is concerned. The Lagoon soap in comparison is suitable for either sex and a variety of age groups too I would have thought thanks to its appealing, fruity aroma.
Even though there was no luxurious, abundant lather to be found whilst the product was soaping on my wet hands, I found that my hands were spotlessly clean after the product had been used, with any dirt or grime being effortlessly washed from the skin.
I am pleased to report that I have suffered no ill-effects whatsoever from using the liquid hand soap in terms of it causing any aggravation to my sensitive skin or eczema.
Overall, I have nothing negative to report about the Avon Senses Lagoon Liquid Soap and think the product offers excellent value for money and is a fairly economical purchase, thanks to the bottle being a slightly more generous size than other liquid soap products that I buy regularly. I think the soap is pleasant to use and enjoy its fresh and fruity fragrance whenever I use it. The product is an old favourite of mine and I will continue to buy it for my household.
I bought this handwash from Avon when it was on offer at £1. It's usually priced £2 for a 300ml bottle and I think at the moment it's on offer at £1.25. The handwash caught my eye in the catalogue a few times because of the great packaging design and picture on the bottle, and when it was on offer I thought it'd be the perfect time to try it out.
The bottle itself is clear but the handwash inside is light blue in colour - the pump also matches the handwash's colour and so does the label - overall giving it a very nice look. The label has a picture on it of under the ocean with a few sea plants. The bottle states it to be a clean and refreshing liquid soap. The back of the bottle only states the ingredients and also to "Plunge your senses into this refreshing scent" -It doesn't actually give any detail to what the scent is and it is hard to pick out any particular scent.. but it does feel very refreshing and fits in well the ocean theme. A part of it reminds me of Pantene's shampoo, but it doesn't smell completely like that. Overall it is a very nice handwash.
The press down pump allows just enough handwash to come out in one pump and when rubbed together in your hands lathers up quite nicely. It doesn't smell too feminine or masculine either and so is a great balanced scent that'd sit nicely by your sink.
There were a few other handwashes in the senses range in a variety of different colours, these are also available as shower gels too. I quite liked this handwash and purchased at £1, it was a great buy and can easily pass as a more expensive handwash. I'd buy it again and would even probably try the others at some point too.
This hand wash was given to me by my mother, who apparently bought it for herself a while ago, but found she has trouble using pump bottles (in general apparently, not just this product), so decided it would be better off with me. I'm never one to turn down a freebie, especially beauty related, so this has been in my bathroom for the last three weeks or so.
The product is from the Avon Senses range, a range of theirs I have had fairly good experiences with in the past. It is in the 'Lagoon' fragrance and should you wish, you can also buy a matching shower gel and bath foam to go with this.
The hand wash comes in a clear bottle with a turquoise pump and label, which match the colour of the product inside. There are no fancy claims with this product - it simply states that it is 'clean and refreshing' and if I'm honest I wasn't really sure what to expect from it.
I find that only one or two pumps is required per use and the cool gel lathers up incredibly quickly. It produces a nice lather, which is enough to feel that it is cleaning your hands without being too foamy or difficult to rinse.
As I use this, I find that a fresh, clean scent comes out, which is slightly citrusy but with that 'sea' scent beauty products can tend to have! It's actually a really lovely scent though, very much unisex, so will hopefully appeal to all, and very uplifting too. In fact, I have been so impressed with the scent that I plan to try out the matching products as part of my next Avon order.
As someone with dry skin and being prone to eczema, I am very aware that many hand washes can be drying to the skin and aggravate the condition. I am pleased to report that I have never felt that my hands have been dried out after using this, nor have I had any flare ups of eczema on my hands since using it. I must say, whilst I haven't found this to be drying, nor have I found it to be moisturising - it simply doesn't seem to change the moisture balance of my skin at all. I have also found that the scent will linger on the skin for around 10-15 minutes after use.
A 300ml bottle of this hand wash costs £2.00 from your local Avon representative or online at www.avonshop.com. If you are a regular Avon customer you will be aware that they often have special offers so you may be able to pick it up more cheaply. Our bottle has been on the go for about three weeks now and there's still some left, with regular use between two of us, so I feel it is value for money.
Overall, I am very pleased with this product and I would be happy to buy it again. It has a lovely fragrance, isn't drying and one bottle seems to be lasting us well too. Definitely one of Avon's better products and one I would be happy to recommend.

I like the Avon Senses range of products. The prices are good and there should be a scent (or 2) for most people.
You can get the Lagoon scent in Shower Gel, Roll on Deo and the Liquid Soap. The normal price of this 300ml bottle is £2, but this can often be on offer. Not seen it as low as £1 for a while, but think it is £1.25 in the recent book, which is still alright.
I guess the packaging isn't that exciting. It is a large plastic bottle which is see through so you can see the light blue gel through the bottle. There is a pump on the top to dispense the Soap, and there is a stuck on label on the front showing scenes from the Ocean. The back label tells the ingredients and how to use.
This is quite a thick gel and you only need 1 squirt to give a good lather. This seems to absorb on the wet skin well, and the gel turns into a froth of little white bubbles in little effort. This also seems quite moisturising and once washed off my hands feel soft and slightly fragranced.
So what does this smell like? Well as the name would suggest then it is a kinda Ocean type scent. It isn't too strong, and it just smells like a Sea Breeze, or perhaps a Hot climate lazing about the Ocean. It is lovely and there is a tiny Salty scent to this.
A nice refreshing scent for your hands, and the Shower gel is refreshing as well.
I got a load of Avon body products for Xmas including quite a few bits from the Senses range. One of my fave items that I've tried so far is the Lagoon liquid soap because it reminds me of the gorgeous Big Blue ballistic that Lush sells, only is loads cheaper and lasts for longer!
It's a very summery smell that reminds me of the sea, it's got a bit of a salty smell and is a proper fresh smell. I think it smells very clean and even though the actual smell doesn't linger for long on my skin it leaves my hands smelling very fresh for ages after I've used it. Also it's good to use in the kitchen because it gets rid of smells that are sticking to my hands and thats especially good when I've been cutting onions or handling fish because I HATE food smells lingering round me.
You don't get a massive lather off this handwash but you can tell it's cleaning your skin good as you're washing your hands. When you use quite hot water you get a few bubbles but not many and if you use cooler water I've noticed you hardly get any bubbles at all. It feels nice to wash your hands with this because the gel itself is a good texture and I think it feels like it should cost a lot more than the £1.00 that it's usually on special offer for.
The pump works good and each squirt gives you enough handwash to give your hands a good wash. If your hands are particularly dirty you might need 2 squirts but try just the one first to save waste because it deffo cleans a lot better than you think it's going to.
It looks wicked on the sink as well, I think it's got a very summery look even though it's quite understated. The gel and bottle are a gorgeous aqua colour and it's got the same pretty but functional look that all the Avon Senses handwashes have got.
One thing I've got to tell you here is that my mum has got a bit of excema on her hand that only comes out when she uses strong handwashes, this one makes her hands very dry and she won't use it because it makes her hands feel itchy like her excema is going to start playing up. For that reason I'd suggest you give this one a miss if you've got dodgy skin like her, I've got skin like a rhino so it doesn't affect me at all! lol
There are some products from Avon cosmetics that I have used for a long time and one of them is the range of liquid soaps. There are four or five different scents of liquid soap to buy in the Avon brochure but one of the one that I usually buy is the 'Lagoon' option.
The bottle is nice and attractive and I like how it matches my bathroom colour scheme! The bottle is a pale turquoise colour and has a pump dispenser at the top of the bottle so all you need to do is push down on this dispenser and some of the soap comes out the opening. This means it is a hygienic way to wash your hands. There is a label on the front of the bottle which reminds me of the ocean as I can see waves and water and even a blue coloured dolphin! It makes it a very attractive looking product.
There are other items I can buy in the same range which is the Avon Senses range. The other items in the 'lagoon' fragrance are a shower gel and a body scrub and both of these have very similar packaging with the sea and the dolphin on the front of the bottles.
The soap is pleasant to use because it has a very nice scent. I do not think that the scent is too feminine or anything and it reminds me of an 'oceanic' shower gel that I use regularly.
When I squirt some of the soap onto my wet hands and rub my hands together I can see a light foam appears which is like a lather. It is not difficult to get this lather rinsed off and I think that after I have washed my hands I can still smell the scent of the lagoon soap on my skin which is nice because I like the smell of the soap.
The lagoon soap does not dry out my hands or make them itch the way that cheap supermarket own brand soaps do and this is one of the reasons that I like to buy this soap from Avon.
The bottle is 300 ml in size and this lasts me over a month so it is good value for the £2 price it costs. The lagoon liquid soap is quite often on offer and at these times I order a few and keep them until they are needed so I can make a good saving.
The other scents in the 'Avon Senses' range are: Sunset (orange), Mystique (pink), Reflection (purple) and all three of these other scents can be bought in the liquid soap too. There are some other scents for some of the other items like the scrubs and shower gels.
It really is a nice liquid soap and I will keep buying it because it is pleasant to use and kind to my skin.
I like Avon's Senses range as a whole, but my favourite hand wash at the moment is the Lagoon variety which is an aqua hand wash and looks very Caribbean sitting on the edge of my sink.
I love it so much it because it puts me in mind of the scent of the Big Blue ballistic from Lush, very ocean-like and refreshing plus there's even a picture of one of my beloved dolphins on the label!
I won't insult you by giving you instructions on how to wash your hands, but I personally find this one of the most cleansing hand washes from the Senses range. Even the briefest of washes leaves my hands spotlessly clean and they also smell it too thanks to the very clean and fresh fragrance of the hand wash.
I find it lathers up very well, not so much that I struggle to rinse it off but enough to leave me with perfectly clean hands and confidence that it has done a good job. The lather is rather thin, which does not bother me in the slightest when it comes to hand wash, but if you're one of those people who has to have two hands full of bubbles to feel as though you've washed your hands then I doubt if you'll like this one or any of the Senses range.
This hand wash is gentle and however many times I use it over the day I never get any itchiness or dryness on my hands, if a hand wash doesn't agree with my skin it will leave it extremely dry and cracked and I will often need to use a hand cream after washing. Not with Lagoon though as while it's not exactly moisturising it doesn't leave my hands in any better or worse condition than my skin was in before using it.
The usual price for Lagoon hand wash is £2 for a 300ml bottle, which is reasonable I think. It's often on special offer though at either a reduced price or as part of an 'x-amount for £x' type promotion along with the other Senses items, this is when I intend to stock up on this lovely hand wash as although £2 a bottle is good if there are savings to be made then I'll make them!
Gentle on hands and contains vitamin E /
