“ Brand: Boots / Type: Hand Wash / Suitable for: Hand „
Boots make a lovely 'luxury' hand wash that I have bought a few times now called Citrus Fusion. I love the packaging of this hand wash, as it's really pretty and eye-catching. I am now onto my third bottle of this. I am a bit of a sucker for nice packaging and that's why I was initially drawn to this product. I also prefer to use liquid soaps in my home, as I always think they are just more hygienic to use than soap bars. Bars of soap have their place, of course, I still use one in the bath and the shower. However, I prefer to use a liquid soap after using the loo. This bottle cost me a fraction under £1 - value indeed!
The packaging of this liquid soap, is, as I say, rather pretty and eye catching. The plastic bottle is quite tall and elegant looking and love the pretty black flower print. The bottle contains a generous amount of 250ml of pale green looking liquid soap and the black flower image contrasts well against the green and really makes it stand out in my downstairs loo when it stands on my wash basin.
The soap itself is dispensed via the familiar pump dispenser and one press delivers a generous amount of pale green liquid soap. It lathers really well and the fragrance of this soap is absolutely gorgeous. As the name suggests, it's going to be citrus based but there just seems to be a whole host of various citrus smelling fragrances in there. It's actually hard to detect which one is the strongest when you first start to use this soap.
There is definitely the smell of limes and lemons but hen again I can also detect the very subtle aroma of fresh citrus oranges. The whole combination is really uplifting and fresh and just makes me want to stand at the sink and keep washing my hands for ages. A few friends and family members have used my downstairs loo and have commented on the liquid soap I have in there and have asked me where I bought it and what it is.
It's not a soap which is drying to my skin. I do occasionally suffer from dry itchy knuckles, but this soap is quit moisturising and not only does it clean exceptionally well and leave my hands feeling fresh and fruity, but it also doesn't dry them out at all, even after many washes.
It's definitely up there with one of my favourite liquid soaps of all times and I really just cannot recommend it highly enough. Definitely a product I will keep on buying, especially at this price.
I love trying and testing out new toiletries and as we rapidly use hand washes in our home, I'm forever buying replacements. Whilst shopping in Boots a few months ago my attention was drawn to their Luxury Hand Wash range and this review discusses my experience with using Citrus Fusion. I would point out that whilst I provided Dooyoo with the correct image to accompany my product suggestion, they have included the Vanilla fragrance in error.
We are provided with 250ml of hand wash contained within a transparent tall and slim plastic bottle, which is very appealing to the eye due to the black flower images, which are displayed on the entire luxury hand wash range. Despite the dispensing unit offering a rather chunky appearance, its bold black colour provides the perfect contrast to the pale green contents and the bottle doesn't look out of place when situated next to the hand wash basin.
The unit enables a sufficient amount of hand wash to be dispensed with one single press and I was impressed with its good consistency. Whilst the dispensers of some brands tend to drip after using, I experienced no issues during my use of this product. As the name would suggest, Citrus Fusion contains a combination of citrus scents and a burst of freshness was immediately evident where I was able to detect a hint of lemon and lime in addition to a very refreshing and uplifting orange aroma. I favoured the fact that the scents were extremely authentic, which surprised me, particularly for such a fairly low priced hand wash. A decent creamy lather was created within seconds of introducing water and the hand wash was easy to spread over my skin. I found the product extremely effective at ridding my hands of any grease and grime and it was effectively rinsed away with warm water without leaving any sticky residue on the surface of my skin.
I had initially anticipated the hand wash to be a little drying due to its citrus contents, which would have been a little concerning for me, particularly as I suffer with dry skin on my hands, particularly along my knuckles, which often split and bleed. However, I cannot complain of any issues whilst using as I suffered no dry patches and the surface of my skin felt soft and smooth. Whilst Boots market this product as moisturising, I felt the need to apply hand cream after using, as I am always concerned that my skin condition will return if I do not effectively moisturise. I favoured the fact that the refreshing citrus aroma lingered on the surface of my skin for a short while after use, which is always a positive for me in relation to hand washes.
Despite the product being marketed as luxurious, it does not carry a luxurious price tag, as it costs just £1 for the 250 ml bottle, which I feel is excellent value for money. Whilst this is not an issue in our household, particularly as hand washes are used fairly quickly, I would advise that the product should be used within 24 months of opening with the bottle being recyclable once empty.
Due to my positive experiences with using, I will definitely make a further purchase in the future and have no hesitation in making a recommendation.
I hope you found my review useful and thanks for reading.
