Dr Organic is a brand which specialises in a range of organic skin care products. They use only natural ingredients and you'll find that ingredients are chosen for particular properties. The range includes Pomegranate for rejuvinating and tackling aging, Manuka Honey for repairing and moisturing skin, Tea Tree for blemish-prone skin, Lavender to calm and soothe, Vitamin E for moisture and smoothing the skin and Aloe Vera which can help to care for sensitive skin and calm it down.
I was recommended the Aloe Vera range for my sensitive skin. I frequently have breakouts if I don't cleanse properly but in the process of cleansing my skin, like many others, my skin is prone to sensitivity which can make my complexion red and blotchy and my skin sore and sensitive. The other issue is the ease with which my skin finds an issue with a product and also that soap leaves my skin dry, tight and flaky. Yummy I hear you say. Oh yes - it is, believe me! The winter did my skin NO favours!
You get a 100ml bar for £2.49 at Holland and Barrett which is where I pick mine up. It can be used all over the body but I tend to just use it on my face when I'm in the shower and before I go to bed. The bar is a yellow colour with tiny tiny little black grains which you can't feel but I believe it is the Rosemary that is put in to add a little scent and helps complement the soothing properties of the soap. It foams up nicely and comes off cleanly. What I do like about this soap is there the skin feels softer and smoother afterwards. It doesn't feel overally tight, there is no over powering sent and my skin then benefits from the moisuriser I put on to follow it. I do use the Aloe Vera Concentrated Cream at night which is thick but not greasy, complements the bar quite nicely.
Another benefit is it seems to last for absoloutely ages. I only got through my first one because my boyfriend started using it and leaving it in the shower drain where it got wet and the goodness drained away...! But at £2.49 it's easy and cheap to replace on the few instances I would need to do this over a year.
The soap comes in a white box which has a cut out window where you can see and touch the soap (should you feel the need to!). There is an image of a juicy looking aloe-leaf in the left top corner and there is the the Dr Organic Logo. In the right hand corner all the info is written over a dark green square. There is also a 'Certified Bioactive Organic Ingredients' stamp on the box. The design is familiar throughout the range with images being changed dependent on the main ingredient.
There is a Dr Organic website - http://www.drorganic.co.uk/index.asp but when you go to 'Buy Online' you are automatically directed to Holland and Barrett. The website has a clean, easy to use layout and is obviously meant to be reflective of the clean image.
I honestly think that of all the products I have tested out on my poor, sensitive skin this has been the least damaging and the most beneficial in helping my skin to feel calmer and clean. There is no tightness and it is complemented well with a large, affordable range of other products which means that if this product proves beneficial to you, you can pick up some of the other stuff too!! I really like it and would highly recommend it :)
