Lush Godmother Soap
Advantages: smells great, cleans well, lasts well
Disadvantages: maybe not good for very dry skin
I really like to visit Lush, I quite often buy presents from there but more often than not I'll get something for myself.
For anyone not already familiar with Lush, they are a chain of shops which sells handmade soap and other cosmetics. You can usually smell the shop before you see it because of how lovely all the soap smells!
Godmother is a deep pinky purple colour and smells divine. It has the same scent as Lush's Snow Fairy shower gel (which is available only at Christmas time) which according to Lush is candy floss and pear drops. The soap certainly smells sweet, but not sickly.
My daughter uses this soap when I buy it and she loves it as much as I do. What surprised me is that my partner also likes to use this soap despite it's girly appearance.
I have quite sensitive skin which can vary from dry to greasy and this soap has not irritated me at all and has been neither too drying or too moisturising for my skin. If you have very dry skin then this soap might not be for you, but otherwise I think it would suit most skin types.
When using the soap it glides nicely over the skin, cleans well, but doesn't lather up overly much.
The thing I love most about this soap is how long the fragrance sticks around for. If I have a bath using this then I smell like the soap for at least half of a day! I also find that the bathroom will smell like the soap until the bar is finished. If I keep some of this in the kitchen or toilet for washing hands (which according to the Lush website is what the soap was designed for) then that room will hold the lovely smell. The candy sweet smell is quite lovely in the kitchen!
This soap is available from Lush stores or their web site (www.lush.co.uk) and will set you back £2.95 per 100g. I had treated myself to a 200g bar so this cost me £5.90, a price that I was happy to pay for such a lovely soap.
I have been using (and so has everyone else in the house) my bar of Godmother soap daily for over a week now and there is still plenty left, less than half is gone which is great as some Lush soaps seems to wear down much quicker than this.
I would certainly recommend this soap to others, it's a great treat for yourself or makes a fantastic present for others
Summary: A nice soap that will keep you smelling good
