      A good handwash for day use but not keen on the leaky bottle

      I have tried various Palmolive products before and really like their Milk & Honey range of products. I picked up this Olive Milk handwash as part of a Buy One get One Free special offer with my favourite Honey & Milk handwash. Ordinarily it costs between £1.00 - £2.00 and can be found in most supermarkets and high street beauty retailers. Product description: "Ultra moisturising. Palmolive Liquid Handwash with Olive Milk is a creamy soap free formula enriched with Olive Milk and Creme. It helps moisturise your skin, leaving it feeling silky soft and smooth. Dermatologically tested." This handwash comes in a standard looking pump dispenser bottle that is white with a geren pump section. You get 300mls per bottle which is a good amount and lasts me for a very long time. I have had many problems with the pump on this bottle, as it seems quite difficult to push in at times. The twist to lock function also does not seem to work on this particular bottle and I often find that the pump has leaked, causing a trail of handwash to run down the side of my sink and flow away down the plug hole. I find this annoying on two levels - one, because it is wasteful to lose so much of the product in this way, and two, because I have to clean it up! This liquid handwash has a rather ordinary appearance, and is just a creamy white liquid with a nice thick consistency. It has a perfumed scent to it and this will stay on the skin for a while after washing your hands with it, but it is not too strong to be unpleasant. The handwash itself feels quite soft and creamy, but when I add a little water to lather it up it gives me this awful slimy feeling and I feel quite uncomfortable rubbing it between my hands! This is not a pleasant sensation and does put me off using the product in general. It doesn't really seem to foam up very much at all, but it does spread easily and a little can go a long way. My hands always feel soft and moisturised after using this handwash, which is of great benefit now as the skin on my hands always dries out in colder weather. I have no need to apply hand lotion straight after washing like I do with harsher soaps. This 300ml bottle has lasted me for months and months, probably down to the fact that I prefer to use bar soap for washing my hands. I tend to only use this liquid handwash for when my hands are particularly messy or dirty, for example if I've been cooking and my hands are covered in dough, or to get rid of mud after doing the gardening. It handles these icky jobs very well and gets rid of all the muck leaving my hands fresh and clean. Washing my hands with this liquid handwash always leaves me feeling clean and my skin seems to stay moisturised afterwards without any harsh, drying effetcs. It has served its purpose but I prefer the feel and the scent of Palmolive's Milk & Honey variety, so I will be sticking to that one in the future. Ingredients: Aqua, Sodium C 12-13 Pareth Sulfate, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Sodium Chloride, Sodium Benzoate, Styrene Acrylates Copolymer, Cocamide MEA, Parfum, Sodium Salicylate, Glycol Bistearate, Polyquaternium-7, Citric Acid, Tetrasodium EDTA, Laureth-4, Sine Adipe Lac, Olea Europaea Oil, Limonene, Linalool. {review also posted to ciao under my username zombieflesh}

        Palmolive Naturals Olive Milk Hand Soap

        Palmolive Naturals Olive Milk Hand Soap I've always been a fan of hand soaps instead of bars of soap for washing your hands in the bathroom and the Palmolive range is one of my favourites. Back in 1898 a gentleman called B.J. Johnson from the United States developed a formula for a new soap made out of palm and olive oil. The product, Palmolive was so popular that he named his company after it. At the turn of the century Palmolive was the world's best selling soap. In 1928 they bought the Colgate Company to become Colgate-Palmolive. Today the soap is just as popular as it has ever been. They produce quite a few different varieties to choose from such as the hypoallergenic range and the florals range but for this review I am going to concentrate on the Naturals range, in particular the Olive Milk flavour. Naturals from Palmolive is a soap-free formula which is enriched with olive milk and creme. It helps to moisturise your skin and leave it feeling silky soft and smooth. The soap free formula is said to contain a unique combination of mild cleansers and a skin conditioner that protects the skin from excessive dryness. I have definitely found this to be true. The liquid really coats my hands and I have seen a marked improvement in the softness of my hands. The dry patches have definitely gone away as well so I think the fact that this liquid does not contain soap definitely takes away the harshness of it. It says on the bottle that the softness is supposed to last day after day and so far it has! The smell is a really interesting one. It does not smell like olive oil, I'm sure you're pleased to hear. I like all the different smells in the Palmolive range but this has a really thick homely smell about it. Its quite a fresh smell and welcoming and the creme just makes it nice and creamy. The liquid does have quite a nice look to it too. It comes in a plastic bottle with a pump lever on the top. This is great as it's very easy to get the soap inside out without fiddling around with bars of soap etc. Also, it keeps the bathroom sink cleaner than having soap on the side. The bottle is quite pretty with a picture of some olives on it so is nice enough to leave on the bathroom shelf. The bottle is 300ml and with daily use I would say lasts about 1-2 months. A bottle at the moment costs £1.67 in Sainsburys but I find often they do a two for one offer which is very handy because you can stock up and always have one in the cupboard for back up. All in all a great product that I definitely recommend.

          Will buy again, after I have used up all the ones in the cupboard first!

          We hit the Jackpot when we went shopping at our local Asda store the other day and there was a huge display of these Palmolive hand soaps for 40p each. I always have a bottle of liquid soap in the kitchen, bathroom and loo, so I decided to stockpile and buy loads of these! I had never tried them before, but I do regularly use the shower milk in the same variety and I really enjoy using Palmolive products as they are quite rich and luxurious but don't cost much! The soap comes in a 300ml bottle, which is quite generous for a liquid soap. The bottle is white opaque plastic, so you can't see the soap inside, and it has a transparent green pump dispenser on the top. The pump itself is nice and big, which makes it easier to dispense the soap when your hands are wet! I am calling it "soap", but technically it is a "handwash", as the formula is soap free! The back of the bottle gives a brief desciption of the product, a list of ingredients and tells you that the bottle is recycleable and should be used withing 12 months of opening. The soap is a joy to use. The pump dispenses a perfect dollop, and you can see that it is white in colour and opaque. It has a very light floral scent, but not so feminine that it would only appeal to women. This is a clean, fresh scent. It definitely does not smell like olives or olive oil, which is a relief for me. The handwash is very rich in consistency and lathers up nicely, without creating too many bubbles, it feels very creamy, smooth and moisturising. It washes off easily and leaves your hands smelling and feeling clean, neutralising any odours on your hands from preparing food. My hands felt very moisturised after using the handwash, as if I had applied a layer of light hand cream to them. My fingers and palms felt really soft and I did not have that tightness that you sometimes experience when using soaps. The handwash does contain a potential nasty, a surfactant called SLS that can dry the skin, but I didn't have any problems caused by the inclusion of this ingredient, as the inclusion of effective moisturisers seemed to cancel out any bad effects. I would definitely buy this handwash again after my huge stockpile runs out, although I estimate that one bottle of this would last approximately 3 weeks on average. 40p was a really good price, but I would be happy to pay full price for this as it is a very effective product. Unlike many of the handwashes I buy, this product does not claim to be antibacterial, but this does not bother me too much, as I am always thorough when I wash my hands and sometimes I think that if we rely too much on antibacterial products in our daily lives, then the germs and bugs will just compensate and get stronger! If this was decanted into a posh dispenser, you would think that it was a premium priced product, as it makes the skin feel so pampered. This handwash is certainly a cut above most soaps available, and the fresh scent will linger on your hands for a couple of hours. Great value.

            Palmolive Naturel Olivemilk

            Palmolive Naturel Olivemilk I'm more aware that washing hands regularly is really necessary. Not only after going to the toilet, but also after household chores. This time I bought one of the brand Palmolive with olive oil because it was on sale in our local shop. It looked good and olive milk sounded a little bit exotic. Palmolive Naturals tries to use more natural products and fragrances in the process of making the soap. More information about the Natural series can be found on the website of Palmolive. Washing you hands with the Palmolive Naturel Olivemilk should give you a more Mediterranean experience according to the brand. The rich creamy formula takes care of your skin and leaves the skin silky soft. Olive oil is good for your heart and blood vessels when you use it in the kitchen. As a skin care product is very easily absorbed and has a moisturizing effect. It is also very well tolerated to the skin. With this soap it's olive milk and not olive oil. The bottle is mostly white with a well-rounded flattened olive-green pump. You can easily unscrew this pump. On the front of the bottle you have the Palmolive logo and underneath in green letters Naturals. The back features product information, ingredients, manufacturer and quantity. The product is a white and feels soft but it feels thicker than milk. The smell is soft, fresh, but it has certainly no olive flavour. It has a soapy smell and the liquid looks more like a milk than as oil. If you want to wash your hands you have press the pump and you get a quantity of the liquid soap in your hands. Pressing the pump twice is sufficient for washing your hands. The cream soap is easily distributed over the hands and turns into a light foam in contact with water. This foam is easy to rinse out as a result you have nice clean smelling hands. All in all a really pleasant soap. It has a lovely and not too strong smell and my hands feel nice and soft.
