      Soap in a tin

I like to have nice soaps and this is one I was lucky enough to try out.

      **Product and packaging...**

The soap is100g in size and comes packaged in a rather pretty square tin with a picture of flowers birds and oranges on the lid. When I open up the tin which is easy to do by simply lifting up the lid I find a square shaped soap wrapped in white tissue. On opening the tissue the soap itself is white with the make of the soap and the weight engraved on to the soap itself. The soap is rounded at the sides so its not going to be too hardwhen i use it. The soap smells quite citrusy but I don't know if I am smelling it because of the oranges on the lid of the tin. Whatever the reason, the soap does have a really fresh and clean smell but not floral which I like.

When I use the soap it is easy to get a good lather and the scent does linger on my skin for a while. As expected the shape of the soap means it has no hard edges and as its used it becomes nicely rounded off at the corners.

      ** Using the soap...**

The soap should be used as any other soap. I use it as a bath soap on my body but not my face although it would be nice in the tin and left by the sink. However I tend to keep my soaps in a slatted soap dish and find that it helps them last longer as they are not sitting in water. For this reason I did remove the soap from the tin and sit it in the dish so it is able to dry out and not go soggy between washes.

      **Price and availability...**

The soap costs £4.95 and is available from departments stores. The website, www.scottishfinesoaps.com has a wide selection of the soaps and gift sets.

A lovely soap which if kept out of the tin and on a slatted soap dish does last for ages. It lathers nicely and makes my skin feel really soft clean and fresh after use. Another advantage is the tin which I have kept and now store bits and pieces in it.

I have bought a couple more of these soaps and based on this one would recommend them.

      Thanks for reading

      Daniela xx
