I love The Body Shop’s ranges of soaps though I buy them just for myself as my husband thinks that they are too girly smelling and my kids prefer using hand wash. I like to keep one in the bathroom for washing my hands with as I just love the scent from them.
I alternate which one I buy as I love them all. The pink grapefruit is one of my favourite ones as I love the whole pink grapefruit range as it is sweet and fruity but there is also a bitterness to it which takes away some of the sweetness so it isn’t overpowering or sickly sweet.
The soap lathers up really well and I get loads of suds from it when rubbing it between my hands with a little bit of water. The soap cleans off dirt really well but it isn’t too caustic on my hands. Sometimes with soaps I can use them and my hands get so dry feeling that I need to apply hand moisturiser straight away as it can be uncomfortable but I don’t need to do that with this one.
I don’t really tend to use this on my body and certainly not on my face as I use the body wash for that when I want this smell but it is a great thing to have in the bathroom to wash hands with and feels a bit more luxurious than plain soap. I like to keep some in the guest bathroom too as I think it is a nice thing for people to use when visiting the bathroom.
The smell is really fresh and zingy and even from just washing my hands it fills up the room and is strongly scented. I also really like the shape of this soap as it is curved which makes it easy to hold and work into a lather in my hands.
This costs 2.00 gbp which is expensive for a bar of soap but I still think it is inexpensive because of how good the quality of this soap is and how great it smells.
I love Body Shop products and I think I must have used all of their bar soaps. One of the nicest ones I have used is their pink grapefruit bar soap and I bought this after I had used up all of my lemon scented one, which I also really really love. This soap costs two pounds for a one hundred gram bar. It''s plainly packaged and just wrapped in plastic The soap itself has a small logo of the Body Shop indented on the top though this does disappear very soon after using it. The soap is oblong in shaped but with rounded off corners so it makes using it much easier. I use this in the bath and the shower and not only do I use it on my body but surprisingly it''s also fine to use on my face, I di think that it might have made it feel tight and taut but in fact it is quite hydrating and makes my skin feel very soft and smooth, The smell is that of delicate grapefruit and it really is delicious. I love it and it is definitely worth the price. Highly recommended.
Not so long ago I wrote a review of The Body Shop's Strawberry soap. I have now moved on to using their Pink Grapefruit soap, so thought I'd give that a review too. Like the Strawberry soap, I received this as a gift.
The soap came packaged in a simple wrapper and the soap itself is a sort of pinky orange colour. The bar is rounded and slightly curved so feels comfortable to hold. It has The Body Shop logo printed into the top of it, but this wears away after a few uses.
I am using this soap in the bath rather than as a hand soap. The first thing I noticed about it was the smell, which I really like. As you would expect it smells like grapefruit, so is fruity with a sharp zinginess to the fragrance. I've found it a good product to use in the mornings as the zesty fragrance really wakes up the senses.
When it came to using the soap I found it lathered well. Like the Strawberry soap, it doesn't create a particularly thick lather, but it does feel nice against the skin. The problem for me, came when rinsing the soap off. At this point I found that it would leave my skin feeling really tight and uncomfortable. I do have fairly dry skin anyway, so perhaps I am more prone to this feeling, but I didn't like it and it ruined the experience of using the soap somewhat.
Thankfully, once I dry my skin the tightness seems to disappear almost immediately and my skin does not feel particularly dry or in urgent need of a moisturiser. Sadly I don't notice the grapefruit fragrance lingering for any amount of time, but my skin does feel nice and clean.
A 100g bar of this soap costs £2 from The Body Shop. Although that is not particularly expensive in the grand scheme of things, I do think that it is possible to buy general drugstore brands - such as Dove - which do more for the skin and cost a fraction less than this one.
To conclude, I found this soap quite average. The big plus point is the scent which I really like. The Body Shop make other Pink Grapefruit scented products, such as a body lotion, butter and shower gel, which I would quite like to try now, however I would not buy this soap again. The uncomfortable tightness it left on my skin along with the fact the scent disappeared very quickly were reason enough for me to give it a mediocre three star rating.
Soap isn't something that I use on my face or body but I do like to have some in the kitchen and the bathroom for washing my hands and I also like to buy a nice soap for my guests to use after going to the bathroom. Most of the time it is a liquid soap but sometimes I will buy some from the Body Shop as they are lovely if not a little bit expensive.
Like the shower gel the Pink Grapefruit is my favourite soap. It costs £2 so it is a little bit on the expensive side but it makes a nice treat for my bathroom and I enjoy using it more than most soaps so I don't mind now and again buying myself one.
The soap is really strongly fragranced even before using it. As soon as I open the packet I can smell it straight away and it actually works to fragrance the bathroom as the fragrance wafts from the soap and fills the room so that when I walk in I can actually smell it.
It cleans really well and I could use this to wash my hands after being out gardening and it would remove all the dirt leaving my skin spotless.
I would only use this for washing my hands though as I did once try using it in the shower on my body and I found it far too harsh for my skin as it dried it out and left it feeling tight and uncomfortable but to be honest this is expected of soap and it wasn't as harsh as some that I have tried.
As a hand wash it is lovely though. It gives off a brilliant lather making cleaning my hands and getting into all the crevices easy and it isn't so harsh that my hands feel dry and rough afterwards. I apply a lot of hand cream throughout the day so this probably helps but sometimes I can go for a few hours after washing my hands with this before I put on the hand cream and my hands don't feel dry and rough.
The fragrance is amazing and anyone who hasn't tried the Pink Grapefruit range is missing out. It is sweet but sharp at the same time and is really delicious. I also like that it is quite a unisex smelling fragrance so I can put this out for guests to use and not worry it is too feminine for a man.
===Body Shop Brand===
The Body Shop was founded in the 1970s by Anita Roddick but has now been taken over by L'Oréal.
From their website - 'The Body Shop has always believed passionately that animals should not be used for cosmetic testing. We have never tested our products on animals. Similarly, we insist that all our suppliers have not tested their ingredients on animals for cosmetic purposes.
We're incredibly proud of our dedication to this issue, and our global campaigning against cosmetic animal testing. The EU banned animal testing for finished cosmetic products in 2004, and for ingredients in 2009.'
This is one of the Body Shop's selection of fruit fragrance soaps.
It is a glycerine type soap that is semi transparent. Very fragrant. If you like citrus smells you will LOVE this - smells juicy enough to eat - but don't!!

Orange shade but a little paler than the satsuma version.
Has Body Shop logo imprinted on the front.
Label on the reverse.
100 grams, made in UK and use within 12 months.
Label peels back to reveal ingredients which includes glycerine and citrus elements.

From the Body Shop website it states This zesty soap contains real pink grapefruit seed oil. It gives a rich lather and leaves skin cleansed and refreshed.'.

===Good Points & My Opinion===
The fragrance is very fruity and true to life. You can smell ithis soap even before you remove the plastic wrap that surrounds it.
This makes it great for scenting drawers and underwear and is a great way to store your spare soaps and still enjoy the smell.
It smells almost too good to use. If you keep a few in the bedroom it will scent the whole room - so you get the lovely smell even before you open and use them.
In use the smell is very strong and citrusy - great if you love the smell like I do - it lathers well and makes bathtime that much more enjoyable to have a lovely aroma while bathing and showering.
I will often use these in the shower without bothering with shower gel and they clean realLy well - the smell is gorgeous and the lather feels nice and moisturising due to the glycerine.
Bodyshop's glycerine soaps are very fragrant, are great to use, lather well and do not disintegrate in the bathroom once they have got wet. We all enjoy using these fruity soaps but I do try and keep them for myself if I can! I have not bought one of their soaps yet that I have not enjoyed using.
Maybe at £2 a bar you think they are a little expensive for everyday use but they are worthwhile as a treat every now and again.
long lasting soap that lathers well and keeps its shape and colour almost to the end, but does tend to go a bit white towards the finish.
Sells at a reasonable £2 for a 100 gram size which I would class as regular - lasts absolutely ages - especially if you try and keep it for yourself like I do!
Can also sometimes be picked up on sale so you might even get more of a bargain.
From any Body Shop shop but I purchase from their website. The postage here is £2.99 but the company often has special deals for free postage so by ordering when there is a special offer could mean you have free postage plus also get a % off the total cost of your order as well.

Pink grapefruit is one of my favourite fruits, I love its sweet juicy flavour and beautiful fragrant zesty smell. It reminds me of holidays and beautiful lazy breakfasts and so to be able to find that fragrance in a soap too is absolutely lovely.
I love the fruity natural authentic smell of this soap that is good enough to eat and really like using this lovely hand soap.
One of the Body Shop products that I really like are their bars of soap, such a simple product but a good one nevertheless. I have a number of their soaps in different colours and flavours as I think they are priced very reasonably at just £2 each and they last well too. The soap weighs 100g and is a rectangle shape and fits nicely in the palm of your hand. They are a good size and last quite a while on the side of your bath. I like to keep quite a few around and often decorate with them if I am going for a certain colour or look. I also like to give them as gifts as they make really nice little presents to pop in a gift bag with some other bath and beauty products.
The soaps are sold separately in The Body Shop so its a nice way of testing out a certain smell if you are not sure about it and not spending too much money.
The pink grapefruit smell of this soap, like I've said above is really sweet and fragrant and if I do keep it in my bathroom I find the whole bathroom then smells of grapefruit which is lovely. In my opinion I think The Body Shop have really captured this fragrance well and its very authentic smelling. I think this is because The soap itself actually contains real pink grapefruit seed oil so you know that it is authentic and actually can tell where the grapefruit smell comes from.
The soap is somewhat see through and it contains glycerin so this is why its more of a thinner soap than some of the thicker soaps. It has a beautiful pink grapefruit colour to it and again I think The Body Shop have captured this natural colour perfectly too. The soap lathers up really well in your hand and leaves my skin feeling really nice and smooth and of course very fragrant.
I like soaps from The Body Shop as they always seem to be of good quality. Although I do also like this one I am not as keen on it's smell as I am with the others.
The soaps from The Body Shop come wrapped in a thin film. This still makes it possible to smell the flavour of the soap before buying it. I find in some other shops the soaps are so heavily wrapped they can be hard to smell or all you are able to get from giving it a sniff is plastic!
There are a lot of soaps you can choose from in this shop and I always tend to go for the fruity ones.
This one is a traditional shape it's oval and very solid in feeling. It fits fine into a soap dish or tray and is a good size to hold although obviously over time it does get smaller with use.
When you add water to this soap- even just a few splashes- it becomes slippery in your hands so you do have to be careful as it can be difficult to hold once it does! It is easy to get off the soap and onto your sponge or flannel but without taking big chunks of soap out.
It lathers up nicely under water so you can wash yourself with it.
After using this I feel nicely clean and refreshed. It helps to remove dirt and stickiness from the grandchildren when they've had dinner too and they seem to like the smell!
The smell is pink grapefruit which I think is quite a personal opinion as to whether you like this scent or not. I personally prefer other scents although this one doesn't have anything particularly wrong with it- it doesn't smell artificial and it lingers gently on the skin after use. I just prefer some other scents such as the orange one and satsuma.
It lasts a good while and doesn't start to crack until it is nearly finished. I do recommend it if you like pink grapefruit i recommend you give it a smell first
