After receiving a bar of the body shop strawberry soap for Christmas and loving it I decided to purchase some of the other scents to try one being the wild cherry as I love fruity fragrances.
This soap is available to purchase in body shop stores or on the website www.thebodyshop.co.uk and is currently priced at £2.00 for a 100g bar.
The soap comes packaged in a plastic wrapper with a window at the front allowing you to see the dark red coloured slightly transparent soap inside. The directions for use on the wrapper are pretty straight forward of ‘lather up in the bath or shower. Rinse thoroughly.’
As soon as you open the soap you can smell the rich cherry fragrance which is just lovely. I use this soap on my body puff and a little really does go a long way. I only had to rub this soap over the body puff a couple of times to create a lovely lather and spreads the fragrances around my bathroom.
The soap is not overly moisturising but leaves my skin feeling fresh and cleansed with a slight hint of the cherry fragrance remaining.
I have been very impressed with this soap, it cleanses my skin leaving it with a lovely hint of the fruit fragrance remaining. It is also excellent value for money as you only need to use a tiny bit meaning a bar lasts much longer than a bottle of shower gel. Highly recommended
I remember my mother used to get these soaps from The Body Shop once in a while when I was younger. I once again saw them again in The Body Shop after visiting it after a very long time, it brought back some memories so I decided to pick one up for myself after not using it in a long time and, to be honest, for old times sake!
The Body Shop has such a great range of these fruity smelling soaps so at first I was a bit confused on which one to purchase as they all looked and smelled so great. After much deliberation, I decided to go with the Wild Cherry one as cherry is probably one of my most favourite fruity smells ever.
And the smell of the soap is amazing! It is very fragrant and I just love it. It is very strong and you can instantly smell it from a long distance away. So it is a great air freshener and cleaner. But I must say that for just one bar of soap it costs £2.00 which is a bit steep considering the fact that this is a product that you use on a daily basis. So I would say that it is a great product as a treat to yourself here and there but not a weekly purchase.
But all in all I love this soap!
The product itself works very well, it lathers nicely without falling apart which can be super annoying.
===Body Shop Brand===
The Body Shop was founded in the 1970s by Anita Roddick but has now been taken over by L'Oréal.
From their website - 'The Body Shop has always believed passionately that animals should not be used for cosmetic testing. We have never tested our products on animals. Similarly, we insist that all our suppliers have not tested their ingredients on animals for cosmetic purposes. We're incredibly proud of our dedication to this issue, and our global campaigning against cosmetic animal testing. The EU banned animal testing for finished cosmetic products in 2004, and for ingredients in 2009.'
This is one of the Body Shop's selection of fruit fragrance soaps.
It is a glycerine type soap that is semi transparent. Very fragrant.
Comes in an oval rounded shaped bar shrink wrapped in cellophane.
Dark red colour.
Fragrance - very fruity. You can smell it even before you remove the plastic wrap that surrounds it - great for scenting drawers etc and almost too good to use. If you keep a few in the bedroom it will scent the whole room - so you get the lovely smell even before you open and use them.
Personally I am not too keen on a cherry fragrance but I bought these with different fruit soaps from Bodyshop to give them all a try.
I was very pleasantly surprised as they are strongly 'fruity' but not especially 'cherry'.
I like using these with the raspberry shower gels and they go together very well.
It is a shame Bodyshop have now phased out these Wild Cherry soaps from their website as they are very strong and refreshing - they have also had glowing reviews on the Bodshop website.
Bodyshop's glycerine soaps are very fragrant, are great to use, lather well and do not disintergrate in the bathroom once they have got wet. We all enjoy using these fruity soaps but I do try and keep them for myself if I can! I have not bought one of their soaps yet that I have not enjoyed using.
Maybe at £2 a bar you think they are a little expensive for everyday use but they are worthwhile as a treat every now and again.
Fragrant long lasting soap that lathers well and keeps its shape and colour almost to the end.
==Cost & Availability===
I bought mine from the Bodyshop website for £2 each. Unfortunately these are no longer on their website but can occasionally be picked up on Ebay.
