Gund Sesame Street Ernie ... already have the miserable Bert and here is his cheery counterpart, Ernie. Not sure if Ernie has a second name, most people just know him as Ernie. Ernie is a long running character in the hit tv show Sesame Street. He has brought smiles to faces worldwide, thanks to his chirpy nature and good spirits. He is the polar opposite of Bert, but somehow the two remain good friends! Although you can purchase a wide range of Sesame Street toys, there exist few very good stuffed toys on the market. Luckily, Gund have managed to corner the market with a selection of well made toys which all have very good likenesses. The soft toy of Ernie is an excellent recreation. His face... Chuckle Buddies ... s CHRISTMAS!! - Well almost. It certainly Felt like it on Saturday when I ventured into the local, newly opened toy shop; a veritable Aladdin s cave. I m a few years older than I care to admit, but going on 6 is about right where toys are concerned. Now I wouldn t say I was deprived as a child, far from it, but there just weren t the same wonderful variety of toys around in those days. I must be a store owner s nighmare, for when I see any toy with a switch or button with the invitation "Try me." Off I go, down the isles, pressing every button in turn, listening to what it had to say and sing, or watching it squiggle and dance. Oh what fun, and all for free... Sesame Street Count Von Count ... Count was always one of my favourite characters in Sesame Street. He made regular appearances, sitting alone in his castle, with a smirk on his face, the man was clearly not to be trusted. Though he was a dab hand with numbers and he would often come up with novel ways of getting you to count to ten. Modelled on Count Dracula, he obviously doesn t go around Sesame Street sucking childrens blood, that would be creepy! This new cuddly version of Count Von Count is a surprising choice of character to turn into a soft toy. I am not sure he would have as much play value as a Big Bird or an Elmo or even a Cookie Monster. But the Sesame Street universe is not just for kids...
