Aurora YooHoo and Friends Bush Baby with Blue Tail
For Christmas 2010 my mum took it upon herself to buy me a present off my dog. Naturally as my dog likes fluffy cuddly toys my mum chose a fluffy cuddly toy for me. Unwrapping the present I admit my first thoughts were 'what is that?!' but after getting over the initial shock that there was something with bigger eyes than my dog I decided this little toy was actually quite cute.
The toy in question is the Aurora YooHoo and Friends Bush Baby with Blue Tail.
The Bush Baby is mainly an off white, almost cream colour all over with grey paws, ears and face. It has huge blue eyes which do make it look quite unusual but at the same time really cute. The other main feature of the Bush Baby is he has a very long and soft blue and grey stripped tail, the tail is actually longer than the Bush Baby itself.
The arms and legs of the Bush Baby are really short and he has his arms open so he looks like he wants to hug you.
The Bush Baby I own is around a total of 12 inches in length if you include the tail, the body of the toy it only around 5 or 6 inches, the rest is all tail. The Bush Babies are available in a range of sizes though ranging from the small key rings and purse versions to large 21 inch soft toys.
This Bush Baby is really well made, the body is made from a lovely fuzzy and fluffy soft plush, which feels really nice to touch and the body is stuffed with normal soft toy stuffing and a few beans in his bum. The tail is also made of the same fluffy plush but has no filling inside which makes it even softer and floppy. The face, paws and ears of the Bush Baby are also plush and very soft but it isn't the fluffy plush.
I have had the toy for over a year now and I've had no issues of holes in the seams, all of the beans in his bum have remained in place and the fluffy plush doesn't loose any fibres. I think this shows the quality of the toy especially as Izzie, my dog, has stolen him from the bed on many occasions and taken him to her bed for a cuddle. She isn't a particularly chewy dog but she does have a good grip when you are trying to take it off her!
The eyes and nose on the toy are made from a very hard plastic and they are very well attached and I doubt that they would come off easily causing a chocking hazard. Even surviving Izzie's teeth my Bush Babies eyes have not only remained in place but also have only the tiniest surface scratches which you don't notice unless you look for them.
The guidance age for the Bush Baby is 3+, I think this is a good age as the toy is so well made.
YooHoo make a variety of creatures of all shapes and sizes, the Bush Baby is just one of them. They also have characters based on lemurs, pandas, penguins and lions to name just a few. All of the YooHoo friends have the huge eyes and long tail and they are all made from the nice fluffy plush.
As I said at the beginning of the review, this Bush Baby was a present so I have no idea how much was paid for it, but doing a quick online search I can see that the particular size I have starts at around £5. Smaller ones can be bought for cheaper though. I think this is a pretty reasonable price for such a funny looking cuddly toy and I would recommend it.
Thanks for reading! :)
