Care Bears Share Care Bear
Advantages: Well made, nice looking.
Disadvantages: A bit pricey for a teddy bear.
*~*~Why I brought it ~*~*
Many years ago when my daughter was about 5 years old, Care Bears became the must have Christmas toy at her school. I endeavoured to get her as many Care Bears as possible, which was quite an easy task as Woolworths was still trading and the selection of Care Bears available was massive. I can't remember how much I paid for the Share Care Bear but if you want one they can easily be sourced on the internet for around £15 including postage.
*~*~ What is it? ~*~*
From what I can remember Care Bears were highly popular when I was a young child in the 1980's. They seemed to have had a bit of a revival in the mid 00's and are still lurking around waiting to empty your Amazon account of those hard earned vouchers.
As I said I brought my daughter a lot of these Care Bears and now 7 years later they can still be found lurking around in her bedroom or in the loft.
Share Care Bear stands approximately 12 inches tall, the positioning of his legs make him more suited to sitting (a bit like me) he sits roughly 9 inches tall. Share Care Bear is a vivid violet colour and is very soft and huggable. On his tummy is a large white circle and in the circle are two crossed lollipops. His snout is also white with a little heart shaped plastic nose and stitched on smile and freckles. He also has plastic eyes and sewn on eye brows. The inclusion of the plastic nose and eyes, in my opinion, make this an unsuitable toy for very young children.
An original Care Bear has a little red plastic heart on his bottom, this indicates that it is genuine.
Share Care Bear has no special abilities; he does not make any noises or glow in the dark. He is a well made but basic bear.
*~*~ Do I recommend it? ~*~*
That would be a yes, Share Care Bear is very well made, and he has been loved, cuddled, abandoned and found many times over the last 7 years and now sits at the end of my daughters' bed. I think he is still cool in a retro kind of way.
Share Care Bear still looks as new and I am guilty of selling a couple of his mates on the car boot a few months ago for a pound a piece (I got my arm snapped off for them).
I think they make a great toy for any child who is in to Care Bears or any adult that used to be.
Thank you for reading.
Summary: Care Bears, still going strong after all these years.
