I have a six year old daughter and have noticed recently that a lot of her friends seem to be having their birthday parties at Build A Bear and they all seem to be collecting the bears and ther accessories. About a year ago I saw the Designabears in Argos which seemed to be slightly cheaper than the Build A Bear ones but they looked just as good in the brochure so I decided to buy one and see what the quality was like. I have to say I was very impressed! Like the ones from Build A Bear they come in their own box, and these bears also come with their own passport which my daughter thought was great.
They are extremely soft and well made, in fact I would go as far as to say that I prefer the feel of them to those from Build A Bear. They come in may different designs and whilst most of them are aimed at girls they also have some which will appeal to boys. My son asked for one for his eigth birthday which he loves and he also likes the outfits that you can get for the bears.
What the Designabears have going for them that Build A Bear doesn't is that they are frequently on offer. They often have 25% off or are part of the 3 for 2 deals so they are great value for money. When they are on offer I stock up and my children give them as gifts when they go to parties. All of the Build A Bear outfits fit the bears that we have bought which is handy.
