      Authentic to the film

My daughter loves soft toys in fact we have a silly amount of these toys now I have had to buy a hammock for the surplus toys as the bed is full. My daughter goes through phases of liking certain toys and that particular toy goes to nursery with her daily, at the moment it is King Louie from the Jungle book.

My Mum got this from the Disney store about 12 months ago at that time the Lion King was a daily feature in my house. The toy cost £18 and is described as a medium size which is about 14 inches.

Scar looks realistic to the film, he has his trademark black mane, is a brown colour and has his distinguishing scar across his eye. His face is quite angry looking compared to the Simba toy we have. He has claws which are fully out which also makes him look quite nasty.

As with all Disney store soft toys there is a sewn on stamp of authenticity.

The toy is made from a lovely soft plush which is really nice to touch, he feels quite 'silky' the mane part of Scar is slightly rougher and look a little scruffy. The toy is stuffed well and he is nice for snuggling up to.

Despite his scary appearance my daughter loved Scar from the moment we first saw him. She likes to have him sat on her lap while she watches the film. The size is a little larger than I prefer I normally buy the smaller versions of these toys the 8 inch as these larger ones take up a lot of space. The Disney store don't stock Scar in a smaller size as he doesn't seem to be as popular as the other toys from the Lion King.

Scar has been on several trips to nursery and inevitably has been painted on and covered in various sticky substances. The instructions say surface clean only, I always put my daughters toys in the washing machine on a cool quick wash, I have even tumble dried Scar on a low heat to get him ready asap as my daughter doesn't like to be parted from them for too long. Every times he has been washed he comes out looking as good as new.

I would recommend Disney store soft toys and in particular Scar as he is authentic looking as well as being perfectly soft and cuddly.

He may have been a villain in The Lion King, but this Scar is a real softie. Covered in fleecy fur and a bean bag tummy, the toy also features a fluffy mane and tail, felt claws plus embroidered eyes and scar detail.
