I love my Lotso cuddly bear; he is one of the softest and cuddliest Disney toys I own (and I own a lot!)
My boyfriend bought him for me, and he sits proudly on the back of the living room chair!
Lotso is quite a large toy compared to my others; he is around 30cm tall. He cost £22 from the Disney Store, and I think this is an excellent price for the size of him. He holds his shape very well (I have not slept with him in my bed, so cannot comment on how well he will hold in that scenario, but he has withstood plenty of cuddles!) and has plenty of stuffing inside to help him stay sat up, and keep his big squishy shape! He is handwash only, and I really wouldn't risk putting him in the washing machine!
Lotso's dark pink fur and grey belly are very soft to the touch. It reminds me of chenille fabric; a very comforting and high quality feel. It is lovely to snuggle into, and the fact all of his eyes and details are embroidered on make him suitable for children.
He has a very friendly big purple nose, and cute little brown eyes. A little wonky smile, a tiny stubby tail, and cute ears popping up out the top of his head. There is also the Disney Store logo on his foot (this logo appears on all official Disney Store teddies). As I said, all of these features are either embroidered or stitched on securely, and there are no loose or hard parts to this lovely bear.
The stitching of Lotso is very high quality. I have looked all over him and can see no loose thread or missed stitches. His eyes are embroidered perfectly, as is the Disney logo on his foot. He is held together incredibly strong, and although there is obviously stitching all over piecing him together, you cannot really notice any 'grooves' in the fur where the stitching lines run. Another point which shows very high quality in him.
A major bonus of this teddy, and to be honest, the driving force of me wanting it, is the fact it is strawberry scented! If you smell his tummy there is a strong and sweet strawberry scent coming from him. It is not a natural scent but more of a bubble gum, hubba bubba, artificial scent. It is gorgeous in my opinion! I adore it, and I adore him.
I cannot give Lotso any less than 5 stars as he is lovely, and in my opinion, very very good value for money. Especially for Disney.
We are all huge Disney fans in our household so much so that we actually own two of these Lotso Huggin bears. I purchased one of them for £39.99 around three years ago from our local Smyths toy store. He did seem very expensive at the time, although it was at the peak of the Toy Story 3 film so they were very popular. It is currently reduced to £30 in Argos. He is recommended for ages 4 years and upwards.
The Lotso huggin' bear isn't actually manufactured by Disney although it is based on the Lotso character in their Toy Story 3 movie. The bear is around 30cm tall and 22cm wide so he's quite a large cuddly toy and he looks exactly as the character does in the film, mainly in pink and grey. He's very soft and very cuddly so he makes a lovely toy for cuddles, although as he's battery operated the section for the batteries can sometimes be clearly felt sticking out of his body. His fur is quite fluffy, but I've not noticed any shed at all. He takes 2 AA batteries to operate his voices.
He talks with a wide number of phrases in the same voice as in the movie. The phrases are very cute - for example he'll say that he's lonely and needs a hug and also say that you're his best friend. He is operated by pressing his paw. Lotso isn't a very nice character in the film, although you wouldn't guess that from this bear. The sayings are so cute that they do seem a little out of character given the nasty character he portrays in the film!
He can be turned on and off via a switch at the back, and even when he's switched on, he has the ability to detect when he's not being played with because he will eventually (after around 2 minutes) say that he's having a nap and stop talking completely until he's picked up and played with again. It seems to be our voices that he picks up on - when he's not talked to, then he decides to go into this sleep mode and be quiet. I think it's hilarious when you rub his feet because he actually knows and thinks he's being tickled - he ends up having a little laughing fit! The way in which he operates is very impressive.
The bear also comes with a strawberry scent. I have to say that even after three years ago, the scent on both of our bears has lasted very well and still seems as strong today as it did when we first purchased them. When I say strong, I mean in terms of it hasn't faded as it is a subtle scent and although it is noticeable when giving him a hug, it's not all that noticeable when he's just sat on the shelf in the room.
Overall, although he's a very clever and cuddly toy, I wouldn't pay the full price of £39.99 for him again. I bought him when the film was huge and it was a Christmas present, but thinking back it was a lot of money to spend on one cuddly toy. He's a great toy and the way he operates is impressive but I feel that a lot of the high price is down to being a branded toy from a Disney film. I've rated him three stars as I feel that is fair. If he can be purchased on offer, he would be a nice gift for a Disney fan but at full price he's very expensive.
Thanks for reading :o)
My absolute favourite Disney soft toy that I own is Lots O Huggin Bear from Toy Story 3. Again, he was a gift from my boyfriend and one of the first things he ever bought me. There hasn't been a day while I'm at university that I haven't slept with Lots O in my bed at night. You will understand why later in this review.
Lots O Huggin Bear is slightly more expensive than other Disney soft toys and is usually priced at £22. However, there is a bigger version of this soft toy which I recently bought for something else and that one costs £40 (although I got mine half price in a sale). Lots O is 34cm in height and 35cm in width which does also make him slightly bigger than other soft toys which I guess is why he is a little more expensive.
Lots O is a lovely raspberry pink colour and his fur is extremely soft. The pads of his paws and feet are an off-white colour. He also has a large white mouth with a large raspberry coloured nose. One of Lots O's eyebrows is slightly arched which makes him look a little bit evil. However, as evil as he looks, I cannot help but love him. He is so cuddly and warm and kids will be able to pull him around all over the place.
Lots O Huggin Bear is slightly more special than other Disney toys. The reason being, he smells like strawberries. The scent is really fake but it does smell wonderful and that's the reason I like having him in bed with with. He's so cosy to cuddle up with and I love having the smell of strawberries next to me as I fall to sleep.
This is a great soft toy from Disney and I am yet to find one I love anywhere near to how much I love this one. Highly recommended for both kids and adults!
