My daughters birthday falls just after Christmas which means she does end up getting a bit of money given to her so we can take her sale shopping and she can pick what she wants, a couple of years back, she picked this up.
The one we purchased actually comes in a little pink plastic handbag and cost around £10 from the Disney Store (I remember it was reduced from £15 at the time). There are different sized ones available, a medium which costs around £18 and when Christmas comes around, they sell a large one which retails for £40, although this quite often gets reduced to £20. The Marie was have is exclusive to the Disney Store and is available online and in store.
Lauren goes through phases of watching her favourite film, over and over again and at the time she had this, Aristocats was one that we had watched several times and Marie is one the main characters from the film. Marie measures around 14cm tall and 17cm in length, she is in a standing (on all fours) position and looking forward.
She is brilliant white (and somehow, 2years later is still pretty white), has a bright pink bow around her neck ad little pastel pink ribbon in her hair. The inner parts of her ears are also white and so is her nose. Her mouth is slightly open and gives her a look as if she is smiling but by far her most striking feature is her brilliantly blue wide eyes. She is very cute and there is no doubt which character she is designed to be.
Marie's fur is super soft and she has a very cuddly feel to her, what Lauren likes is that unlike other teddies she has, her legs are a little firm which means she stays stood up all the time.
Lauren loves that fact that Marie comes with a bag as she loves to carry it around everywhere she goes, another film Lauren loves is Beverly Hill Chihuahua and she pretends to one of the women in the film, carrying her around when we go shopping and because she is so light, she doesn't complain that she is 'making her arms ache'. Lauren also likes to pretend Marie is a real cat, setting up her own little pet shop with our real cat, feeding her with her Baby Annabel bottle and cat treats, I would definitely say Marie helps promote imaginative play.
I would definitely recommend Marie, its one of Laurens favourite teddies, Marie gets 5 out of 5 stars from me.
Thanks for reading.
My daughter is a big fan of Marie from the Aristocats. She likes the film but LOVES Marie! Aristocats is an 1970 Disney film which revolves around a mother cat (Duchess) and her kittens (Marie, Toulouse and Berlioz) who are trying to find their way home after being catnapped. Marie looks much like her mother, but a cuter version, I think this is why my daughter prefers her, plus Marie is the only girl kitten.
Whilst browsing The Disney Store last year we came across a little Marie toy that we simply had to have! It's a 'Disney Store Exclusive' which means you can only buy it from The Disney Store, although it doesn't have a badge or patch sewn on it like the bigger toys do (just a regular white Disney tag).
Marie looks very cute and is totally recognisable. Aristocats/Marie fans are sure to love her, my daughter sure does! She is all white, with a pink collar (with bow on top), pink bow on top of her head and is in a sitting position. She has tufts of white hair on top of her head and on her tail. She also has little pink ears, cute pink nose, beautiful blue eyes and a little mouth stitched on to her face.
She is described as 'mini' on the website and she is quite small, but not TOO small (about right for the price). She measures at 17cm tall and 14cm long, so the perfect size for taking out and about and a good size for keeping in buggies and car seats, plus it doesn't take up much room in bags etc. My daughter often takes hers to bed and she takes up no room at all. She's also very lightweight and is effortless for little ones to carry about. Marie is super soft on the outside and very squishy inside - perfect for cuddling up to! She is also described on the website as a 'bean bag' although you can only feel the bean bag in her bottom. The bean bag doesn't effect how soft and squishy the toy is and helps to weigh her bottom down which allows the toy to sit up independently, which is nice. The toy is suitable for children 12+ months and can be hand washed.
You can buy the Marie Mini Bean Bag toy from The Disney Store for £7.00. There are also larger versions of the same toy available.
My daughter has had this particular toy for 8 months or so. She has lots of soft toys but this one is among her favourites. It's very cute and pretty, as well as soft and cuddly. I also think it's good value for money and is the perfect size for taking out and about. The only downsides are that I find it gets quite grubby rather easily because of the white colour (easily sorted by a warm hand wash though) and my daughter managed to pull the bow off Marie's collar. I have since sewn it back on and it's been fine. Overall, a nice soft toy from The Disney Store.
