We recently visited the Disney store as my daughter is obsessed with all things Disney, especially with Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. Her favourite is Minnie and she has countless Minnie toys and accessories - our visit resulted in us bringing yet another Minnie soft toy home. This Minnie toy, along with a lot of other large plush toys, was reduced to £10 from £20 which I thought (considering it was from the Disney store) was actually quite reasonable. The smaller Minnie soft toys were priced higher at £12 so that sealed the deal for us.
This Minnie is big - she is around 50cm in height so she looks pretty huge next to my daughter! She looks like most other Minnie toys - this one is dressed in a pink spotty dress with a bow on the back. She has a larger bow on the top of her head. She also has pink shoes with bows on and wears customary white gloves on her hands. On her shoe is a special Disney Store logo stitched in which I think makes her look a little more special. None of these clothes are removable and are instead stitched on to the main part of Minnie's body. She does wear white frilly knickers though that can be removed. I thought that was a bit weird - it probably would have been easier if all of her outfit could be removed for washing but it's not a huge problem and she can be easily sponged clean with a cloth.
She is made of soft material that in some areas feels velvety which isn't the greatest material with a little one although surprisingly I've not found it a huge problem to do the sponge cleaning. I haven't put ours into the washing machine as I'm quite scared to incase she ends up shrinking (some of the others we have from Disney unfortunately have done) and her label does advise to only handwash in a bowl so I probably will just stick to wiping her clean.
I looked high and low on the tags on this Minnie and I couldn't see any sort of age recommended before purchasing. My daughter is nearly 1 ½ years - I felt that it was appropriate enough for her although I do always ensure that I supervise her and I never let her take this one to bed with her as I feel it's too big for that purpose. I have been concerned mostly about the bottom section of Minnie's body as it contains hundreds of little beans that are sewn inside so I do always make sure I watch her when she's playing with this toy just incase.
My daughter absolutely loves this Minnie. She beams whenever I pick her up and immediately runs to grab her from me and then runs about the room clutching tight hold. The beam on her face remains there for ages and Minnie has become a firm favourite in the toy box. Minnie is so big though that she just takes over when she walks around with her! For that reason, a lot of time she will sit down on the rug and play with her that way instead. Minnie is very soft and cuddly and she always hugs her tightly.
I would really recommend this plush toy - especially on the current offer price. I'm not sure we would have purchased her at full price (but partly because we own lots of Minnie's already) but I felt at £10 she was a good buy. For the smiles she's created, I can vouch that my daughter definitely agrees! She's earned the full 5 stars from both of us!
Thanks for reading :o)
My youngest daughter loves Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and all of the characters, she has had a Mickey Mouse plush for quite a while now so my Mam decided to buy her a Minnie Mouse one for her birthday.
The plush was ordered from Asda Direct and you can also get Donald, Daisy and Goofy, not sure what happened to poor Pluto! The plush cost £9.99 and she had it sent to store so it didn't cost anything got the delivery.
The plush is about 10 inches tall and it came with a tag attached to the ear stating that it was suitable for children from 36 months, I really don't understand how a very soft plush toy is not suitable for under this age as long as your child is past the sucking on everything stage I see no reason that this plush would be a problem for a younger child.
The plush is a true likeness to Minnie Mouse which is because it is an official Disney product, I hate cheap imitations as they never seem to get the likeness correct. Minnie has a lovely pink with white spots dress and bow on her head and is wearing lovely pink shoes. Minnie is lovely and details and has embroidered eyelashes and little puffball sleeves on her dress, Minnie sits well but isn't stiff so she doesn't stand.
Emily was thrilled when she opened Minnie and she went and put her straight on her bed with Mickey, some mornings we have to bring the toys down and she will play tea parties with them and other days they just sit on her bed. She sleeps with the plushes every night and she checks if they are in her bed when she goes up and then if not we have to find them before she will even get into bed.
Minnie is beautifully soft and must be comfortable as when I check on Emily she will often be laid one of them or cuddling them in tightly which is really sweet. The dress is a lovely pink colour and Emily likes to sit her down and straighten her dress out as in her words "she needs to be tidy." Emily loves her plush and for the enjoyment she gets from it the price was fair too.
About a year ago, my daughter received this little Minnie Mouse soft toy from a visiting relative. At the time, Minnie Mouse didn't mean anything to my little girl and I simply put it in her cot with her other soft teddies and cuddly toys and thought it would be one for her when she was older. Now, that she is two, she is a little more familiar with Minnie Mouse, more through the merchandise that you see in shops as opposed to anything she has saw on TV (as Peppa Pig still rules her TV viewing!). She was also at a party a couple of months ago with a minnie mouse theme, which brought the character a little closer to home for her. Since the party and the fact that she is a little older, this Minnie Mouse toy is often taken out with her, and she is much more interested in playing with it.
I know for a fact that this teddy was bought in the Disney Store and having had a quick look, I think it cost around £7, as it is the very small version of Minnie Mouse, which can be purchased in various sizes. THis one is ideal in size as it can if in my handbag when my little girl gets bored carrying Minnie around, and also it fits beside well beside her in the buggy when we are out and about.
As can be seen from the picture above Minnie is wearing a customary spotty pink dress which oversized matching bow in her hair, black tights and pink shoes with white hands. THis teddy also has a bean bag tummy so it is squidgy and soft when cuddled, which is probably why sometimes if my daughter wakes during the night, she can be found cuddling Minnie even over her usual cuddly toys as it is soft and squidgy and a perfect size for tucking up with.
All in all, now that she is older this soft toy has much more appeal for her. She better appreciates the character despite not seeing her on TV before, and I think with the teddy being so soft, girly, and the perfect size for a young child, all helps make her a popular choice for bedtime and for taking out and about.
Minnie Mouse is a favourite in our house and we have a number of Minnie Mouse's in different forms such as small figurines, Minnie Mouse slippers, PJ's and robe and a lovely big Minnie Mouse soft toy. I received this as a gift when my little girl was born and it has been her constant bed companion ever since. It's a really nice, well made toy so I don't let her leave the house with it but its ever present at bed time to help her fall asleep.
Minnie Mouse, full name Minerva Mouse (according to an article I read, bet you didn't know that!) is the girlfriend of Mickey Mouse. She was first created in 1928 but still looks as youthful and pretty as she did when she first appeared. I am usually used to Minnie Mouse in a red dress and red accessories but as this soft toy she is in a lovely shade of pink. She wears her ever present and iconic pink and white polka dot bow in her hair and a lovely pink and white polka dot dress with white frilly knickers on underneath. These are attached to her dress with a little stitch so they do not come off but I think if you cut the thread they probably would. I like the fact that they stay on as otherwise my little girl would always be taking them on and off and they would probably get lost.
The toy is probably about 15 inches tall so she is nice and big and really fun to cuddle and play with. She has quite a solid body and head but what I really like about her is that she has long thin dangly arms and legs. This makes it easy for you to sit her up or put her arms around your neck and give you a really nice cuddle. I like doing this to my little girl and she loves it and thinks its really funny. She has really big hands which are perfect for clapping together and using to put around my little girls neck to hug. Minnie has a really cute smile too and is just a really fun and inviting toy.
Minnie has a lovely soft plush material to her and this makes her very cuddly. I'm pleased at how clean she has stayed after two plus years. You can't put her in the washing machine, you just have to spot clean her with a damp cloth but this works well and dirt does come off her in this way. It actually says on the little tag that she is surface washable only and I find baby wipes work well too to get off quite a bit of dirt.
On her left foot (right as you look at her) she has a little sewn on badge that says she is a Disney Store Original so you know that she came from an authentic place and is a real Minnie Mouse.
As I've mentioned above, Minnie was a gift but I think a toy of this size would cost in the £20 region. We love her and I'm sure you will too!
Like most little girls, my daughter loves Minnie Mouse! A couple of years ago we bought her a 'Minnie Mouse 37cm Small Soft Toy' from The Disney Store.
Our Minnie Mouse is exactly as pictured above and is a 'Disney Store Exclusive'. This means that this particular toy cannot be bought from anywhere else. Minnie has a patch sewn on the back of her dress which reads 'Disney Store Exclusive & Authentic Original Product'.
Minnie Mouse used to wear nothing but a red and white polka dot dress, red bow and yellow shoes. However nowadays she can often be seen sporting a pink look (which has been made particularly popular by the pink outfit she wears in the pre-school programme 'Mickey Mouse Clubhouse'). Our Minnie Mouse Soft Toy looks very pretty. She wears a short sleeved pink dress with white polka dots and silky pink ribbon (which is tied up in a bow around the back). She also wears pink shoes (with bows on top), white gloves and a pink bow (with white polka dots) on her head. Underneath her dress she wears big white bloomers with her tail poking through! Not forgetting her trademark black round ears, 'sticky out' black nose and long eyelashes. None of her clothes can be removed and everything is stitched on, so this is definitely more a soft toy than a doll. The toy seems very safe and there doesn't appear to be any safety hazards. The only thing which I would watch out for is a small button which is stitched on to the front of her dress. The toy doesn't have an age range but I think it would be suitable for children 2+ years.
The whole toy is soft. The insides are squashy and the toy itself is very lightweight. Although Minnie is described as 'small', I actually think she's a very decent size. She isn't huge but I certainly wouldn't say she's small. The dimensions are 37cm high and 27cm wide. All of these factors (softness/squashiness/lightweight/good size) mean that Minnie makes the perfect soft toy. Although my daughter has LOTS of soft toys, this has always been one of her favourites. Minnie can often be found in her bed or travelling in the car with her. My daughter always used to carry Minnie in her buggy with her too.
As I already mentioned, my daughter has had her Minnie Mouse Soft Toy for a couple of years now. She's still in very good condition. There's no rips, tears, fading or bobbling. She is surface washable too (although I don't recall ever needing to wash her). I can happily confirm that this toy is great quality and very durable. Minnie has a beanbag inside her bum, it isn't very obvious (and doesn't make the toy any less squashy) but it does allow little ones to sit Minnie up unaided which is a very nice quality to have (essential for teddy tea parties too!).
There are lots of different Minnie Mouse Soft Toys available at The Disney Store. However this Minnie Mouse 37cm Small Soft Toy costs £12.00 which I don't think is a bad price at all.
