Big Bird would make a great Christmas gift, but his price tag could startle some. At a little under forty pounds he is far too expensive for those of us on a tight budget this winter, which is a terrible shame. He stands at about twenty five inches, so he is a very big Big Bird! I always had a problem with Big Bird, in that he seemed to hog the limelight in Sesame Street. Poor old Oscar, Grover and The Count took back seats as he pranced about the screen in a camp fashion, mixing with American children. I know he meant well, but the character was overused and grated on me! Gund have made several Sesame Street cuddly toys, all with different price tags. Big Bird is one of the largest creatures on the street so he commands a whopping price tag, which I shall come to in a moment. He has been expertly crafted though with a loving eye to detail.
