“ Brand: Hasbro „
~ Overview ~
No it isn't a boiler from British Gas this is a little cuddly toy which was something my sister used to own, and I remember them being little cute glow up in the dark cuddly toys which were great for dark cold nights.
The glow worm had a battery pack inside the worm which when squeezed would make the face on the doll light up which created a soft glow due to the vinyl face.
I also remember squeezing the worms lower body that hard that it fell apart, but this was after having the doll for many years so no need to worry, as this is a good quality product.
~ Interesting Fact ~
The Glow Worm was introduced in 1982 and was created in Rhode Island and designed by Hasbro.
~ Age range ~
I would recommend this toy for all children of all ages as it is very safe and a great cuddly toy for toddlers too. We tend to use this to send our child to sleep these days as it has a light when squeezed which helps him sleep easier.
~ Price & Location ~
You can buy this from E-Bay or Duncan's Toy Chest for around £10 which is a bargain price for the quality of the toy.
~ Types of Glowing Worms ~
Due to the success of the large glow worms Hasbro decided to release a smaller set of glow worms called Glo Friends : -
* Glo Snugbug
* Glo Snail
* Glo Doodlebug
* Glo Bug
* Glo Grannybug
There are many more, but the examples above just give you an idea of what types you can get a hold of.
~ Conclusion ~
This cuddly toy was a classic in my youth in terms of glowing up in the dark toys and also helping children to sleep easier. Today you can get practically anything or any type of cuddly toy with a glow light inside (Winnie the pooh being a good example).
The glow worm requires three AA batteries which means that you don't have to keep changing the batteries every two months and more like every six months which saves on money.
The newer versions of the glow worms come with music which allows helps with sleeping patterns for babies and toddlers as it gently sends them to sleep. I wouldn't say that these toys educate your child but my baby seems to think it's the most fun thing in the world which is all that matters.
