WHAT IS IT? A large soft toy of Peppa Pig that talks. THE DESIGN This toy is very big and measures 18". You can tell it is Peppa Pig straightaway because it looks very much like her. The body and head are very bulky but the arms and legs are thin like on the television show. I like Peppa's red dress and how soft the toy is. WHAT IT DOES As well as being very cuddly this toy says words and phrases that Peppa would say on the television. To make it talk you press the toys tummy and that is very easy because it responds quickly to pressing and the area is wide so young children have not got to struggle to do it. WHAT I THINK I like this toy but it is very big so very young children can be a bit scared of it because it is nearly the same size as them. My daughter used to laugh at the snout but she only uses it to decorate her bedroom now because she is too old for Peppa Pig. I think it looks very nice on top of her chest of drawers because the large size and big bottom makes it sit up without falling over. It is 3 years old and has been played with a lot but the toy is still in very good condition because it is a quality item. The seams are all still closed and it doesn't look any different to how it did when I first bought it, I thought the legs and arms looked very fragile but they are not and they haven't fallen off like I thought they would after my daughter had played with the toy. The voice is clear and I think it sounds like Peppa Pig even though my daughter says it doesn't. The toy takes batteries but I do not know how many because ours have not gone yet, it has batteries already in when you buy it and for them to still be working after 3 years is very good I think. ANYTHING ELSE I remember I paid £18 for this giant Peppa Pig and I think that was a good price. Before Christmas I saw them in Tesco with other giant talking toys for £10 and that is a bargain because the talking small beanie toys of Peppa are £6 and this one is so much larger. 5 Dooyoo Stars.
My daughter really likes Peppa Pig and has done since she was around a year old. She got a whole range of Peppa Pig related presents for her first birthday and this was one of them. ---About Peppa Pig Peppa Pig is a character from the TV shows of the same name. The show follows her life with her little brother George, her Mummy and Daddy, and all of her friends. The character is suitable for young children up to age 5-6 years and my daughter who is 3 loves it. Peppa gets up to all kinds of mischief like my daughter, but she generally learns something by the end of the episode. ---About the toy: The Peppa Pig toy is based on the character from the TV show of the same name. She has a large round soft boddy and head and then small spindly arms and legs. Peppa can only really sit or lie down as the legs are too thin to be able to take her weight so this toy is great for cuddling but not so good for make-believe stories. Peppa is about 18 inches in height and is dressed in her favourite red dress (pretty much the only thing she ever wears in the programme!). Inside Peppa is a sensor and speaker so that when her tummy is pressed (or cuddled) she speaks a series of phrases. These include 'I love jumping in muddy puddles!'; '1, 2, 3.....9,10 ready or not, here I come'; I'm Peppa Pig'; and 'Splish Splash Splosh'. At the back of Peppa is a seam of velcro which when opens houses the speaker and controls for Peppa's speech. There is a switch on the speaker which allows you to switch the sound off which is useful to allow her to be switched off when my daughter goes to sleep. Otherwise you get some interesting conversations in the middle of the night! Peppa takes AAA batteries which have lasted us for the last two years with occassional play which has been very good. I'm not sure how long she would last with more regular play though! ---Our experiences: My daughter was excited when she got this Peppa toy and even more excited when she realised she spoke to her. We showed her how to hug her to make her say the phrases and she enthusiastically copied us. She enjoyed playing with Peppa and making her talk and has found her comforting to take to bed with her as she can have Peppa talk to her while she's trying to sleep. She still enjoys cuddling her two years later and will still ask for Peppa to come to bed with her sometimes. Peppa has been very useful for teaching my daughter things as she has helped her learn counting and also the correct format for playing hide-and-seek. She has also enjoyed listening to the other phrases and has imaginative play with Peppa. The pouch to open for the battery is very easy to open and little fingers get in there quite easily. For some reason though, my daughter likes pulling the speaker out from the back of Peppa which doesn't seem to be an issue but is still a bit strange! At three, my daughter is able to turn Peppa on and off herself and undersnads how to control her on her own which means I don't have the same control over the noise that I had when she was one! ---And finally: I would recommend this talking Peppa to any young Peppa Pig fans. It has provided entertainment for my daughter and has helped her count to ten more easily. She still enjoys playing with it even after a year. The toy is very recognisable from the TV show so it is easy for her to associate them together and provides comfort, teaching and a platform for imaginative play. She is hard to clean when she gets dirty though as she can't go in a washing machine so if her face (which is lightest) gets dirty, it is hard to get it clean again.
For my daughter's first birthday my mum decided to get her a giant Peppa Pig toy even though she isn't a Peppa Pig fan (my mum is a great one for bargains and managed to pick this up in the sales after Christmas for a fantastic price of about £6 I think - better than paying nearly £20 for it, that's for sure!). Peppa Pig is a kids tv show with a pig family, the main character being Peppa who has a brother George. My son has been a huge fan since he was tiny so no doubt my daughter will follow suit! Peppa is about 18" tall and comes dressed in her trademark dress. Her face is great becuase nothing is stuck on - it is all embroidered. This eliminates the worry of bits falling off when around small children such as my one year old! Peppa is made of a felt like material which is lovely and soft, but is prone to attracting any bits that happen to be on the floor/carpet so she regularly needs a brush! Her hands and feet are quite small in comparison to her body as they are in the tv show, but this means they are easily grabbable by small hands. I haven't even covered the best bit yet - when you press Peppa's tummy she talks! She counts to ten which is fab for little ones, and says a couple of different phrases from the show. She has now been pulled around for about a month and still looks brand new so I think she lasts well. All in all I would say this talking Peppa Pig is a fantastic toy for any fan and will be in this house for many eyar!
My children adore Peppa pig. They have many toys from the Peppa pig range including this one. I bought this from toys r us last year. The normal retail price is around £20 but i picked it up for £9.99. Bargain. It is a giant soft toy measuring just under 18 inches from top to toe. The whole thing is embroidered so no eyes to worry about if you have small children. Peppa wears her favourite red dress just like in the tv show. The dress is removable which is something my children like as they love to undress and dress their dollys. When you press Peppa's tummy she says some of her favourite sayings including "i'm Peppa pig" "snort snort" "1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10" "I love jumping in muddy puddles" "splish splash splosh splish". This is a lovely soft toy but i think the giant size actually gets played with far less than the 7 inch size cuddly toys that we have. The smaller versions are so much easier for children to hold. I haven't had to change the batteries yet but the compartment is within Peppa's back via a velcro opening. This toy requires three AA batteries which are widely available. Overall, i paid a fair price for this toy but in future i will stick to the smaller size cuddly toys.
My daughter received the giant Peppa Pig as a gift when she was 18 months old. Peppa is about 17 inches tall from the tips of her toes to the top of her ears. She's made of a very soft felt-like material and is very squishy and cuddly. Peppa is wearing her trademark red dress, which is not sewn on to her, so it can be removed. All of Peppa's features (eyes, mouth and snout) are embroidered on, so there are no bits that can be pulled off and swallowed by young children. Underneath Peppa's dress, on her back, is a velcro strip which allows you access to her internal battery pack, which takes 3 LR44 (little watch-type) batteries. When you press Peppa's tummy, you will find a little sensor button, which when pressed, makes Peppa say one of 5 phrases, including "oink oink", 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10, Ready or not, here I come!" and "I'm Peppa Pig" My memory of the phrases is not brilliant, because unfortunately, ours has only worked once or twice since we opened it. I tried changing the batteries, but even then, the voice only works sporadically. There's obviously some very dodgy wiring in there somewhere. I would have returned it to the store if I'd had a receipt, but since it was a gift this wasn't an option. Despite the lack of sound, both my daughters still play with Peppa - they make the voices up themselves instead. The retail price of this toy is around £17, which I think is too much for what it is, however any little Peppa fans are sure to love this toy, so shop around and you might find it at a more reasonable price.
Unfortunately my daughter was a huge Peppa Pig fan coming up to her second birthday (and Christmas) so quite a few things that she received were from the Peppa Pig range. Dressed in her everyday red dress, this giant peppa pig would be a must for little fans of the show. She is approximately 17inches tall, and very squishy which is great for the child to cuddle. There is a button in the middle of her tummy, and when pressed she says one of five phrases: 1) I love jumping in muddy puddles 2) Oink Oink 3) I'm Peppa Pig Oink 4) One, Two, Three, Four, Five, Six, Seven, Eight, Nine, Ten....Ready or not here i come OOOOIIIINNNKKKK 5) Splish splash splosh splish hee hee hee The button is easily accessible for children to find and press, and it goes off when they hug the toy too. To be totally honest, even though my daughter was such a fan of Peppa, this toy didn't really go down well at all. She seemed to get very bored of it very quickly and as she only says 5 phrases thats no wonder really. I was lucky to get this toy for £10 so didn't mind too much, but to pay the RRP of £24.99 i would've been very disappointed. Being such a big toy i would think there should be more phrases or more things to do with it and i personally think it is a big let down. I wouldn't really recommend this to anyone, as i think the smaller ones do as much and they are much easier to carry round. The only benefit i think there is with this is that it is nice and cuddly.
My eighteen month old is a big fan of Peppa Pig, like so many children at the moment. Even my three year old boy likes to watch Peppa and her family. Her uncle and aunt bought her this large Peppa Pig toy for christmas and when it was opened we all Ooooohed and Aaaahed at it because it was quite impressive. My daughter on the other hand was not impressed, she was actually really frightened! It stands at 18 inches tall. It is March now, and it has taken her three months to come around to the toy. It was cast aside when she first got it, she was frightened of the size of it (to us adults it is probably not that big, but it's well over half the size of our daughter) and she jumped everytime someone squeezed the doll as she would make little phrases in that oh so distinctive Peppa Pig voice. But she has recently become a little braver and we occassionally see her dragging the toy around. When you give Peppa a little squeeze she will say things such as '1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10' which is great as our daughter counts along with her, and then there are the typically peppa phrases such as 'I love jumping in muddy puddles' or 'my name is Peppa Pig.' I think it is a shame that our little girl doesn't like the toy just as much as I do- it looks great, very cute, and it is lovely and soft. But then appearances aren't everything to a toddler. We have not needed to change the batteries inside Peppa at all since the toy arrived at christmas. It requires 3 x AAA batteries and these are included when you buy the toy. You can turn the toy off at the back using the on/off switch if you wish to preserve the batteries for as long as possible. It is easy to use, at only eighteen months our daughter was more than able to squeeze the toy hard enough to get Peppa to talk, and it is also light so it can be carried around very easily. Personally I wouldn't see any bad aspects at all about the toy, but obviously our daughter felt otherwise or she would have been more interested in the toy than she initially was. If you have a Peppa fan, then this is a good little present. However I possibly would not recommend it for the very littlies out there as due to it's size they may be just a tiny bit afraid of good old Peppa! My own toddler is quite sensitive and shy so maybe that's why Peppa was not for her.
GIANT PEPPA PIG TALKING CUDDLY TOY I am writing a review on this huge talkign Peppa Pig Cuddly Toy if I can see the screen, it's so big! MAde by Character Options, Suitable for 18 months plus. Price ------ I bought this toy last week from Tesco. They have had it in their sale reduced from £20 to a bargain prcie of only £10. I personally think £20 is reasonable considering the size, the function, quality and that it's a well known character. I was over the moon to garb the last one for £10! the small 6" peppa pig talking beanies can retail for £7.99 so for 18" talking teddy I think it's a fantastic price. Looks ------- This cuddly toy is an impressive 18" tall. The material is almost a lovely soft velvet feel. Peppa is in her trademark red dress with a flowing piece on the bottom. She has a little curly tail which is very cute. The legs are very short and are black at the end to look like shoes. The eyes, nose and mouth or simplly done with cotton and don't contain any eyelashes or sticking out material. This is obviously great as the audience it is aimed at are generally under 3 years old. Function ----------- Firstly the main function isn't that it talks it is as a cuddly teddy! It is very soft and cuddly for a toodler. The second fun function is that it talks! There is a small disc under the centre of Peppa's dress. It doesn't have a sign so you think it would be tricky to find but it's sensitive so works well. The voise is very authentic, it has the following sayings, 'Oink Oink', 'I'm Peppa pig oink', 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10 ready or not here I come', 'I love jumping in muddy puddles', 'splish splash splosh splich haha'. I personally like all the sayings especially the counting as this has taught my child to count to ten on her own! The repetative counting helps children say along and develop each time. Battery --------- The cuddly toy has velcro down the back with a compartment which huses the battery pack. The batteries come installed and ready to use. It uses x3 AAA Batteries. I like that these are common batteries and not the cell versions as they are simpler and cheaper to replace. The battery compartment has an on / off switch which is very useful to maintain battery life for that bit longer. Also handy as there are some public occasions you might not want to hear Peppa! Advantages --------------- I think this toy is excellent value for money and very well made by Charcter Options. The age range is 18 months plus which is fantastic as it is increasingly hard to find cuddly toys that are suitable for children under 3 years. Educational as it can be great for learning to count. Disadvantages ------------------- The button is very easy to press so if you have it 'on' when the child falls asleep they could accidentally press and wake up (this has happened). I make sure the swiutch is off for cuddle time. The size can be a disadvantage as it obviously takes up a lot of space and can be bulky to carry around. As the head is a very pale pink this can become grubby quite quickly. Overall --------- Personally I think it is fantastic value for money. A lovely looking cuddly toy with many sayings including an educational counting function. A must have for any Peppa pig fan! This would make a great Christmas present. Thanks for reading Gemmy :)
I bought this Peppa pig in the half price sale at Tescos and it was £10 instead of £20 - I know that Toys R Us also sell them for £25! I think that for the size of the Peppa pig £10 is definatly worth it but I dont think I would pay any more. My nearly 2 year old is a big Peppa pig fan and she absolutely loves to play with this soft talking pig! She will push Peppa in her buggy or just sit with her - carrying her is a little more tricky because of her size! Peppa looks exactly like the Peppa pig on the TV - she has the same red dress and stick arms and even little black shoes. When you press her tummy she will say a few different phrases including 'my name is Peppa pig' and she will also count to 10. My daughter finds her a little tricky to press by herself yet (she is only small bless her!) but she has learnt that sitting on her does the same job! A lovely present and well worth the £10 would make any Peppa pig fan an extremely happy one :)
My two year old granddaughter is frighteningly obsessed with Peppa Pig, I found her adoration of the In The Night Garden characters a little overdone but the esteem she holds Peppa in is absolutely astounding. I am sure she would love to go and live with Peppa and George in place of her loving family! This is why I am surprised that she doesn't particularly like the Giant Talking Peppa Pig toy that I bought her some time ago from Tesco, usually anything based on the sweet little piggy is a definite hit but this toy has ended up being a bit of a damp squib - as well as taking up far too much room in her toy box according to my daughter! Peppa stands roughly 18 inches high and is a rotund little character, she is sporting her trademark red dress and small black shoes. Her facial expression makes the cuddly toy look very much like the character from the show that it is trying to emulate, although perhaps the arms and legs are a little too thin for my liking. When you press Peppa's tummy she will say one of several phrases such as 'My name is Peppa Pig' and 'I love jumping in muddy puddles', amongst other things. My favourite phrase is where Peppa counts from one to ten and then shouts 'ready or not, here I come!' which is actually the one thing my granddaughter enjoys about the toy as she has taught herself to count recently and she happily chants along with Peppa as she counts. I am impressed with how easy it is to press Peppa's tummy in order to get her to speak, my granddaughter has several toys which are too fiddly to activate the speech because of her chubby little toddler hands. Peppa is, by contrast, a piece of cake as it doesn't take a huge amount of pressure in the right spot to get her talking - but by the same token she isn't irritatingly easy to activate like a Teletubby toy my granddaughter has which I'm sure takes nothing more than a breath of wind to get it playing the very long winded Teletubbies tune! One criticism I have about the speaking aspect of the toy is that there is no indicator of where the tummy needs to be pressed, all my granddaughter's In The Night Garden toys have had a sticker placed in the region of where you need to press them but with Peppa it was a case of fumbling around the first few times to learn exactly where you need to press. I'm not sure why my granddaughter doesn't love this toy as much as I thought she would, perhaps it's because the bulkiness of it makes it very awkward for her to carry around. She's a rather dainty two year old so Peppa must seem absolutely huge to her, I know when I bought it back in March she seemed a little perturbed by the size of her new toy and even now it's not as easy for her to drag around the house as other toys and she gets rather annoyed when trying to make Peppa sit down straight as her rounded bottom means she is constantly leaning to one side or another. She does like playing with Peppa in the garden however and will happily push her in the swing or send her rolling down her toddler slide, this isn't ideal though as the toy is surface washable only and getting muddy stains out of a plush toy such as this is a hard and thankless task. The recommended age for this Peppa is 18 months which is probably due to the size of the toy and possible suffocation issues when it comes to smaller children, I personally can't see that there is any problem with giving it to a younger child although before this age they are probably unaware of Peppa Pig so buying the toy would be somewhat of a waste of money. Talking of money, this isn't the cheapest toy in the world. I paid £10 for it when Tesco were selling them at half price, along with several other Giant character toys - this means this large cuddly toy would usually cost £20! Yes, twenty quid! Well, I would not have paid that for it even if it were gold plated and to be honest the indifference my granddaughter has shown to this toy means it's not really worth the tenner I did pay for it. Never mind, it's a good quality toy so her Mum is putting up with Peppa clogging up the toy box in the hope that my granddaughter will eventually show it the same love she has for her myriad other Peppa Pig toys.
Peppa Pig is one of my daughters favourite television programmes. I was therefore very happy to find this large talking version of Peppa in my local Tesco store. This toy is a soft plush toy and is covered in a really soft velvety fur. It stands 17 inches tall and is stuffed with foam to make it nice and squidgy. The only hard part of the item is a circle of what I think is card at the end of Peppa's snout. Peppa has small spindly soft arms and legs and wears a red "dress" which has holes for her arms, and her tail. Peppa has a small round disc shaped button in the middle of her tummy which you can press to hear Peppa say the following:- "Oink" "I love jumping in muddy puddles" "One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten - ready or not here I come" "My name is Peppa Pig" The button itself is relatively easy to find for a toddler and is certainly easier to press than some other talking toys she has got. It doesn't however have an "indicator" sticker on it so your child may be feeling around for a bit before they find it. The item requires 3 x LR44 Button cell batteries which are supplied. The safety age on this toy is 18 months old and I would say that this is about right purely due to the size of it. My daughter was given this for her second birthday and I would say that it is roughly three quarters of her size and any smaller child would probably struggle to play with it. This item is normally priced between £20 and £25 and although it is lovely, there is no way in the world I would spend that much on a cuddly toy. However there are bargains to be had and I actually picked up the one for my daughter from Tesco in a half price promotion, and it actually only cost me £10.00. For the money I spent, it has been worth every penny. My daughter was delighted with it and it has rarely been out of her sight since her birthday last week (including taking it to nursery with her). She has put it in her swing and pushed it, taken it into her playhouse and had tea with it, and put it in bed at night! To her, as it is close to her own size, it must seem almost real!
