Ty Beanie Baby
Advantages: Small, cute, soft to touch
There were two different versions of Batty the bat, there was a plain brown version and a tye dyed version, this review is for the tye dyed Batty the bat beanie baby.
I was hooked on beanie babies after a trip to Oasis with my family where I found out about their existance, I left my holiday with seven of the little creatures and collected them happily for the next few years. Beanie babies were first created by Ty Warner Inc in 1993 when an initial nine creatures were released, this spiralled with the creation odf many others and then production was stopped in 1999 ending with The End bear. The company changed to Ty Inc and restarted production in 2000 starting with The Beginning bear.
Batty is a very cute creature in my opinion, he is quite small compared to some of the others such as Gobble the turkey who is nearly double his size. Batty has a small head about the size of a ping pong ball black plastic eyes and a brown plastic nose, he has some stitch detailing for his mouth and I think he looks miserable. Batty has felt like material for his ears and a soft pellet filled body which spans two large wings. Batty has got little bits of velcro on the outside of his wings wo you can spread his wings out or velcro them together and wrap him up in his own wings.
As this Batty is tye dyed it means there isn't another one exactly the same as it would be very rare for the colours to be an eact match, this Batty is coloured in different shades of blues and browns. Inside Battys red heart tag that all the Beanie Babies have it states his date of birth is 29th October 1996 although he wasn't released until 1st January 1999, Batty was retired on the 31st of March 1999 so wasn't available for very long. Inside his tag his poem is,
Bats may make some people jitter
People don't be scared of this critter
If you're lonely or have nothing to do
This Beanie Baby would love to hug you!
I really like this Beanie Baby as I think he is really cute especially the way you can wrap his wings around him and hide his face, his colourings are lovely and as ever he is very soft to the touch so suitable for young children. There is a warning on the tag that if you would like to give this toy to a young child you must remove all the tags first of course you wouldn't want to do this if you wanted him to be a collectors piece. If batty gets himself in a mess you can give him a surface wash but he cannot be put in a washing machine, a lovely addition to anyones colection.
Summary: A lovely addition to any beanie collection
