      Cute and Cuddly soft toy to add to your beanie collection

      ==Introduction==
      TY Beanie baby range come in 3 sizes; the small one which McDonalds manufactured and this was the only place they were available although they have not released any for quite a few years now, the standard size beanie baby which is the most popular size and the larger beanie buddy size which were the same beanies as the standard range just much bigger.

      When much younger I was a keen collector of the beanie babies which were are the height of their success during the 1990's although they were first released during 1985 which was before I was born!

      ==Summary==
      As a keen collector of beanies I decided for Christmas 2011 to get my sister one, she has several off the beanie boo range but I decided to go for a cat as we all love cats in the family, I decided to go for Beani the cat in the end as his cute little face just seemed to stand out.
      Beani has a light grey coloured fur all over his body with slightly darker ears; his fur is quite long so you can get your hand into him when giving him a good stroke. He has a large red neckerchief/ bandana round his neck.

      Each beanie baby has a collectors love heart shaped tag in their ear with a message, Beani has the following message

      'Why is my name Beani the cat?
      It's funny you should ask me that
      My owner loves her Beanies so
      She wanted the whole world to know!'

      It's very important for alot of TY beanie collectors that the tag is kept in perfect condition as although they are not worth alot these days alot of collectors will only be interested if the tag is pristine, you can get little plastic covers to put over the tag to protect them and make sure they don't get damaged, I used to pick these up in the shop I bought the beanies from for about 20p each. Unfortunately Beani is no longer available to buy and is retired; I bought him brand new off eBay though so he is still out there if you want to add him to your collection.

      Beani can be surface washed although I don't know if he would be in as good condition afterwards, these beanies are not advised for small children as they could end up with a mouthful of fur and if they bit a hole In it there are lots of little white beans in which they could swallow not to mention going all over!

      ==Summary==
      My sister was very happy to receive this cute and cuddly cat on Christmas day and takes it to bed every night, I managed to get this at a bargain price of £3.99 including postage which I think is very good value for money as some of the new ones which still get release cost up to £8 each although I have seem selected beanies in Home Bargains for £3 although this can be very hit and miss!

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

        one of my favourite beanie babies

        As far as I know TY produced three sizes in their Beaniy Baby range - the small ones (which MacDonalds gave away with their hugly popular Happy Meals several years ago), the standard ones and the larger Buddy ones.

        Ty Warner unleashed the first Beanies in 1985 and they were probably at their height of popularity in the mid 1990s when many collectors plus the general public would snap up the most popular as soon as they hit the shelves or fairs.

        My daughters and I became keen on them too but we were rather selective and only bought those which we thought looked extra special or which we hoped would increase in value. One of our all-time favourites is Beani the cat which we have in the standard size.

        He has quite long soft grey fur and is really soft inside although you can feel the polystyrene beans in his paws. He's a lovely shade of grey and has a large red satin-effect bow around his neck.

        The tag in his left ear gives us a little poem (as they all do) in this case -

        'Why is my name Beani the cat?
        It's funny you should ask me that
        My owner loves her Beanies so
        She wanted the whole world to know!'

        Corny I know, but maybe it's important to some Beanie-lovers and at least the tag is protected which means it's kept in pristine condition in case it ever increases in value (says she hopefully!) Beani was launched in 1991 and is now 'retired' so there's always hope...

        I'm sure Beani was designed by either a cat-lover/ observer because he has such a great pose (see picture) which is exactly how our cat lounges about.

        He cost around £5 when we bought him and I must say I never grow tired of looking at him as he has a slight Bagpuss expression and his orange and black eyes have that 'knowing' expression.

        Beani has a few whiskers, a stitched mouth and a really cute nose and I think he would make an ideal present especially as the prices are low at the moment on eBay and Amazon although, in my opinion, I think he looks expensive.

        I'd advise giving as a toy only for children who are responsible enough not to chew their cuddly toys because, as stated, he has got beans inside his paws. He can be surface washed but I wouldn't advise putting him in the washing machine because I'm sure he'd go out of shape and damage his fur.

        In conclusion I'd say that Beani is one of the better Beanies because he ticks all the boxes for catlovers because he has 'personality'
