Being an avid shopper I have several apps on my iphone that allow me to shop with various outlets whilst on the move. One of my most used apps to do this is from Amazon.
The Amazon app is free from the app store and I found that it downloaded fairly quickly whilst I was connected to our wi-fi, obviously this will all depend on the connection that you have at the time.
Once the app is downloaded all you need to do is input your Amazon sign in details and away you go.
The app isn't as broad as the website but I have managed to find everything that I have been looking for with ease. You have 4 basic pages to navigate to; home, search, basket and wish list. These are all self explanatory.
On your homepage you are shown items that are recommended to you from what you have purchased in the past. This can be useful however I purchased a shovel handle which I did only need one of and won't be purchasing again so I would like the option to delete these recommendations.
When you use the search option the app will find the top 100 results according to your search. If you are looking for an item in particular this isn't a problem but if you want to have a good old browse then you are probably better sticking to the web version of the site.
You can add items to your wish list by clicking on the relevant option on the products page. You can then view the items all together in your wish list. This saves time searching for products again when you are ready to purchase them. Items in the wish list are displayed clearly and in a good format. Items can be deleted from the wish list simply by swiping your finger across them and pressing delete.
Purchasing items using the app is very easy. The app has all your details on that you use normally on Amazon's website. This means you do not have to keep typing in your details every time you want to buy something. It is literally as simple as choosing what you want to buy, adding it to your basket and confirming.
I have had no problems with the app crashing or any like that and have found is extremely easy to use.
I think this is a great app and it is just so useful. It makes buying things hassle free as I do not have to log on to the computer and get it going before I can make a purchase I can just sit on the sofa and do it there and then. A 5 star app.
Amazon iPhone App
For me, Amazon and EBay come hand in hand so it goes without saying that if I downloaded the EBay App then I also downloaded this Amazon App as well. Having previously reviewed the EBay App, today I'll tell you about the Amazon App.
I downloaded this App from the App store in iTunes, it was free so I didn't hesitate to get it downloaded and installed quickly, really simple process it's just a case of clicking the mouse a few times and I'm away. As there are different Amazon stores Amazon.com etc. The one I have downloaded is of course Amazon.co.uk. At first I was invited to enter my account details so I would be able to access all my own information within the App, on doing this I was able to move freely around the App. I'm first greeted with the name Amazon.co.uk when I open the App. The welcome page has a search bar across the top and also recommendations for me. I also have the option to sign out if I choose. Along the bottom are five static things I can press these include:
This is the first page I arrive on when I open the App.
This opens up the keyboard along with a search bar at the top so I can type in anything I am looking for on Amazon.co.uk
This I think is self-explanatory, I just bung all my shopping here as I go along.
This is where I can put all the things I'd like and will maybe buy at some time or other.
This takes me to a page that has a list of things I may want to use whilst using the Amazon App things like my orders and my account and how to contact Amazon etc.
I find this App to be very handy; I must spend half my life on the Amazon website so being able to take Amazon around with me in my bag is very appealing to me. If Amazon disappeared over night I don't know what I'd do. With this App I can check up on orders browse the website....the list is endless for what I can do on this App, it's just like using the website only it's a lot smaller. So if you are a big fan of Amazon and regularly use the website, then I think you'd love this little App which is really easy to use, it has never crashed out on me, everything runs really smoothly on this App and I'm really pleased with it.
Thank you for reading my review which may also appear on other sites.
Amazon is one of the most visited retailers for general products online nowadays and so as you would expect, now has an app for it's smartphone users. As far as i am aware you can get this on both Android and IOS however i only have an iPhone so can only confirm that.
The app is free via the app store and is quite a quick download if you're on wifi, the first thing i will mention is the interface. The interface of the app makes it easy to navigate and find your way round the mobile version of the site but it does have it's limitations. One i found was when you narrow your category down, for example if you're searching for a camera you can change category to electronics, however you cannot narrow it down any further. This is very annoying as you may search for a camera you want but get returns of things such as chargers, battery's and memory sticks. I then thought, oh well I'll just scroll through the pages as i have time to kill anyway, but you soon find out you only get about 100 products then you have to do a new search, quite annoying to say the least.
On more positive notes the app allows you to easily purchase items using either your card which you have to input your details of or either use your gift certificate balance to quickly make purchases without having to access a computer. You are also able to do almost anything you can do on the website also, for example you can create new and add to your wish list and access your personal details and edit/change them however you want.
In conclusion if you're a regular amazon user or even if you use it on the rare occasion i think this is a useful app to have on your smart device. The fact that it is free also means you're not really losing on anything if you do have it even in case for emergency or impulsive purchases.
The Amazon app is available from the app store on the iPhone. I am not sure if it is available as an app on any other smart phones as I do know that a lot of them are not only just available on the iPhone and iPod, but I am just reviewing the app as it is on my iPhone.
This app is free and I have had it for a while now and they are always releasing updates for it. So the update possibilities are very likely.
You can log in to your account and just like the Amazon website does, its homepage comes up with recommendations for you and things you have been looking at recently. It doesn't keep you logged in though when you come to buy something, which I think is good as if you lost your phone then anyone could get on it and buy things on your account. I have a phone lock on mine though so people would have to get past that first before they could do anything... if I ever did lose it.
After the homepage the next option is to search, where you would go to search for any product, but where you can also scan a barcode. I do like this feature and since the Amazon app added this to their app I have used it a lot. I shop on Amazon a lot and they often have the cheapest price on games and DVD's, which is what I buy a lot of. So when in a shop I use this app to scan the barcode on the product and see if I could get it cheaper by buying it from Amazon.
The app does also allow you to buy products on it, which is the next main feature. You can view your basket and if you already filled your basket with items on the Amazon website, they will also appear here in your app. After that is the wish list, which I also use a lot as I tend to but the things I want when I have enough gift certificates saved up. The main feature after this is titles 'more' and where you go for help, to change the country and where you also log in to your account if you haven't already.
I have never had any problems when purchasing products with the app and it runs very quickly. Obviously this can depend on your WiFi or internet connection too, but the app itself runs smoothly and I have never had any problems with it. It is worth downloading if like me and you like to browse on Amazon a lot or you use it to compare prices, especially as it is free.
I use Amazon a lot as I like to find a bargin and I generally can not afford most things at pull price!
I got an iPhone and downloaded this immediately. The app connects to your amazon account and you can search for anything as you do on the web site. There are not so many things you are able to do compared to the website. The seraches are better on the website as you can refine them more and you can see more details about the items.
Say that that things you can do on the App are good enough to be able to make an informed opinion about what item you want to buy, see different seller, reiews from other buyers and postages.
It does mean that the website is at your finger tips all the time and I find that I am on it when waiting for the bus and the like!
Paying is easy, sometimes a little too easy. There is a buy with one click button and it really is buy with one click!
My boyfriend was looking through the kindle store on my phone and "Accidentally" hit the buy in one click button. The book was bought in one click! That is the item being charged to the bank card attached to your account!!!
Not so good when you are brousing expensive items!
Apart from this the app is brillaint and I use it daily.
This app is great as it is free and you can easily navigate it. There is five different menus in the app one is for searching the store while another is for scanning bar codes of items to get the price of it quickly on amazon and the third option is the your basket and another is more which contains your account and recommendations. There is a home screen which is basically the same as the online store. I prefer this app than just going online and searching for amazons website as it is faster and much easier to control. Buying on the app is very easy and adding to the basket is about as easy the website. This app has never crashed on me no matter how long I spend on it which is very good for a free app. I recommend also getting the amazon kindle app as you can't buy kindle books on this app but can on the kindle app.
Amazon has always been one of my favourite websites: great stock (range expands regularly), free delivery, good customer service and the option to store and access wish lists. The app is free to download from the app store and saves to your phone as Amazon Uk in a little blue icon with a shopping trolley. It loads really quickly from the screen.
The app basically allows you to do most of the things you can do on the website. You can search for items, buy with one click, amend your wishlist, search wishlists, place orders, amend orders and check order status. It is basically a mini version of the website, maximised for iPhone use. One downside for this is that you won't be able to go through any cashback sites when ordering from the app.
The app allows you to log in to your account and saves your username for future use. For security, you have to log in again before accessing 'your orders'. On the front screen there is a prominent search box so you can get looking for your item right away. Beneath that is the option to find someone's wish list or purchase a gift card. Below that, you can scroll through your recommended items.
The bar along the bottom has icons for 'search', 'basket', 'wish list' and 'more'.
The 'search' function gives the option to either type in text, or scan a barcode. Once the system has searched for your item, you can narrow the search by department. The items appear as a list with pictures, similar to the main website. You can click the item and go through to more details on customer reviews, pricing and similar items.
The 'basket' function stores anything you add to your basket from the app or the website for later use. You can add things to your basket on the app and buy them later.
The 'wishlist' function takes you into your wishlist as well as giving you the option to search for friends wish lists. You can buy from your own or another wishlist direct from here.
The 'more' tab takes you into 'recommendations' (you can select by department), 'amazon remembers' (an option where you can photograph and save it into the amazon app and site), and 'your account' (where you can track your packages, view and amend orders and settings).
The app also contains detailed help, and contact details.
I enjoy using the app. It is really great for searching prices or availability on the go. It is also a great way to place an order quickly when you are away from a PC. It integrates well to the website with changes made from the app showing up on the website and vice versa.
Now, I am pretty sure most people would have heard of Amazon by now, and so many people shop on it, it is one of the most popular shopping sites on the internet. I do a lot of my shopping on Amazon, and when I got my iPhone 4, I was told about the Amazon shopping app, so I went straight into the app store and downloaded.
The first great thing about this app, is the fact that it is a free app. You can download it straight to your iPhone, and it only takes a few seconds to install. Once installed, you just tap on the Amazon icon to open the app, and away you go.
The app is actually really easy to use, and you can save your sign in details within the app, so you don't have to keep signing in and out. I only have to confirm my password when I make a purchase. From the app "homepage" you can access your account, recommendations, wishlist (if you have one) and there is also the option to search for items
One of the things I truly love about this app, is the barcode search function. If you want to see if Amazon have a certain item, you can scan the barcode and it will tell you if it has the item, if the item is in stock and what the price of the item is! I found this little tool to be brilliant, and I have found many an item to be cheaper on Amazon when searching this way. It has saved me a good amount of money, and in my eyes that is never a bad thing!
You can add items to your wishlist through this app, and you can also remove items from your wishlist if you want to. Buying items through this app is really simple, just find the item you want to buy, click add to basket and then continue shopping until you are ready, or you can tap buy now and go straight to checkout should you just wish to buy that one item. If you have payment methods and addresses already stored as part of your Amazon account, then you can use these here without having to re enter all the information. You do have to confirm your password though.
You can select and enter different payment and delivery information should you need to, and you can save items to be bought later on. I have ordered many an item from Amazon through my iPhone, and I have never found it to be difficult. In fact, it has been really quick and easy, and I honestly think anyone could do it.
You can also track orders you have made through the Amazon Shopping app. You can see what has been ordered, what has been dispatched and what is waiting to be dispatched. You even have the option to cancel or amend orders from this app.
You can pretty much do anything on this app that you can do on the Amazon website. I actually think this app is brilliant and I am amazed that it is a free app. All the graphics of this app are sharp and clear, with bold colours throughout. Nothing looks too crowded, and the menu systems are really easy to use.
I 100% recommend this app for anyone who uses Amazon and has an iPhone.
