“ Type: iPhone Application „
When I first got my iPod Touch around a month ago I assumed the apps would be things I just wouldnt be interested in. I thought mine would be filled with music and films more than anything else but it turns out I couldnt have been more wrong. I am now an app addict and I have about 100 of them on my iPod currently - some which I have played from the very beginning. This 'Fashion Story' app was one of the first ones I downloaded - and only because it was free but I have become addicted to this game since the very first time I played it. Its definitely one that Ill continue playing for a long time to come.
Stockists: The App Store & Itunes - on your computer.
Other Info: This game is 14.5mb in size. This game is compatible with iPhone, iPod & iPad but it does require iOS 3.0 or later.
Fashion Story is actually a veyr simple game to play. In short you are now the proud owner of what could be the hottest new boutique in town and it is your job to ensure its the best clothing store around - thats the basic outline. In the game what your shop looks like and what it stocks it totally up to you and the more you spend the more customers will come to your shop and in turn the more money you make. The decor of your shop can be literally anything - pink walls with a green floor if you wish so the design is down to personal choice - your shop can also be expanded to fit more shelves and racks for your clothes, but the expansions are only unlocked when you have reached certain levels/gained enough neighbours.
What clothes you sell in your shop is also decided by you alone. There are a few categories for clothes - Casual, Nightlife etc and there are 4/5 outfits for each catagory that you can buy pieces from (usually there is a top, bottoms, a handbag and shoes) and more clothes and outfits will also unlock the higher your level is. Now as this game is quite new I believe there isnt THAT much choice when it comes to the clothes - however recently the game has been adding quite a few more outifts so the game is growing bigger and better all the time it seems. Now the virtual money you earn in the game can be used to buy pretty much anything BUT there is an option to make in app purchases of gems for real money. Gems are used also to buy items in the game but the items you can purchase with gems and usually much nicer - they can also be used to fast-track your orders (some clothes can take 2 days to order!!) or be sold for more virtual money. Ive personally never bought any gems from this game but I suppose they are worth it if you play the game a lot because as I said the items that can only be bought with gems are much nicer and fast-tracking orders is something I wish I could do more often!
In this game you can also add friends to be your neighbours if they play the game as well. Even if none do there is a very large community that play this game (or any Storm8 game) who you can add as neighbours and look around to see what other peoples shops are like - and of course if yours is better! When you have added a neighbour you can then chat to them on the wall-to-wall function and send/recieve gifts from each other so the community feel of the game is quite nice and different in my opinion.
The game is very easy to play I think. The storyline and what you need to do to level up is very simple to grasp and follow but somehow its still a very entertaining game to play. I must admit I check this game at least once a day just to make sure everything in my shop is running smoothly so I guess you could say Im slightly addicted. Id definitely recommend this game - its simple yet will keep you occupied for hours which is always a bonus - and its free so you can give it a try and even if you dont like it you wont have wasted any money. Highly recommended and a solid 4*s from me.
