PocketTV is the first software MPEG Movie Player for WinCE, and the results are impressive. You can play standard MPEG1 files without having to convert the file when you copy it to your device.

I use pocket TV on my HP Jornada 520 series PDA and it has proved to be a very good piece of software. It is downloadable from www.pocketgear.com and is readily available. I have used it with movie clips I have created on other machines and converted them to MPG1 The performance is relative to the performance of your individual PDA, so that may vary. My machine is not the highest spec around, but it performs exceptionally well. I watch a lot of VCD movies, and I have cut segments out to watch particular sequences for various reasons. It works well just like watching a mini TV. A lot of MPGs are available for downloading from a site called POcketmovies.net who have a very wide range of titles from movies to fun clips available. I tried to run movies with the media player for windows CE but no chance it will not have it. This is where pocketTV comes into its own. It comes as shareware, and a registration procedure is required, but it is free, very easy to obtain the registration key code from pocketTV website, just follow on screen instructions. Well done to the code writers - it is a very nice and functional piece of software.
