Words with friends is a game that is available via the app store. I have downloaded the game onto my iphone however it is also available on android and can be played online on face book. This review focuses on the iphone version of the game.

Words with friends follows the basic principles of Scrabble. You are given 7 letter tiles in order to create a word which is to be placed on the game board. Each letter is worth a different amount and as with Scrabble there are various ways to earn extra points on the board; double letter score, double word, triple letter and triple word.

If you simply cannot make a word with the tiles that you have chosen you have the options to pass to the next player, shuffle your tiles or swap a tile. These options will take your turn.

What I like about words with friends is that it can be played with friends but also with different people from all over the world.

You have the following options when creating a new game: add a facebook friend, find a random opponent, search players by username, search your contact list or pass and play with whoever you are with. Even when you select to find a random opponent I have found that the game does this very quickly and you do not have to wait for long, the longest I have waited for is about a minute.

Games on words with friends can go on for a small amount of time or for days. I prefer to play when I am bored and get a game over and done with however you can chose to get notifications when your opponent has played a word and this can make the game go on for however long you want.

The graphics and controls of the game are simple but effective. The screen is clear and you are able to click and drag on the letter tiles easily.

You can get the free version of this game from your specific app store or you can pay £1.99 for the full version. I have found that the free version provides me with everything I need to play this game and have fun.

I really enjoy this game but as I said earlier I like to play the game all at once so I can get annoyed when my opponent does not take their turn straight away, inpatient I know but when I am playing the game it generally means I have nothing else to do. This is a great game to pass the time and I would highly recommend it to anyone who like me loves a good word puzzle.
