Trust Sound Expert Optical 514DX 5.1 ... is as you would expect from such a well known and highly regarded sound card manufacturer one of the best cards on the market within this price range. The device has both optical and coax input/output connections. Potential buyers may find it usefull to know that the dimensions require two rear external HDD slots and will need to be inserted into the bottom PCI slot otherwise it will obstruct the below PCI slot when in place.... Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Music ... managed to pick up an OEM Version of the Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Music from eBay for around £30 around 3 months ago. It is very easy to install, simply slot it into an empty slot and install the drivers and software. Wow! What a difference! I upgraded from onboard sound and the quality difference is unbelievable. I have the card paired with Logitech z-640 5.1 Surround Sound Speakers and a Medusa Speedlink 5.1 Surround headset. Not only does the card come packed with features for example the 24-bit crystaliser, but it is easy to use and configure with the Creative Audio Console. Hercules DJ Console Mac Edition ... would not recommend this product. I have the same product for the PC and it s great. For the Mac, it s awful. I have had problems registering both the hardware and the software; I cannot get any tech support via web, email or phone; and I cannot get music from my iTunes library into the software program. I m not a novice at installing software or I d say the problem is mine. Even the manual that I printed out did not contain accurate directions. For example, it instructed me to right-click on an icon and said that a drop-down menu would appearit didn t. Without that menu, there was no way to import my music into the program.
