Creative Sound Blaster Live! 5.1 ... is a very good soundcard that really has a great price/quality relationship. I bought it a few years ago with the soundworks dts 2000 (be aware that this review is made with this soundcard/speakers combo) and I think it was one of the best buys I have ever made. Not only is it cheap (I bought it new for around 40£) it also delivers a EAX sound that will satisfy most average users. Creative Soundblaster Audigy 2 Platinum 6.1 ... not buy Creative Soundcards. Please. As I write this my PC has just recovered from yet another spontaneous reboot caused by my egregious Audigy drivers. It took them months to support Win XP and when they did the drivers were rubbish. Their Technical support is run by a medium sized poodle called Doris. Well that's the only way to explain the way it operates. Did I say 'operates'? Silly me. These people just can't make soundcards. They have just managed to flood the market and get adopted. Like Microsoft.
