I had been thinking about going on a detox for a while, and when i seen detox Marbella advertised on the internet i decided this is for me, mainly because the thought of travelling as far as Thailand was not an option. On arrival to Malaga airport i was collected by Monique and Jerry {who are the owners}and taken to the apartment which was to be my home for the next two weeks, i have to say i was pleasently suprised. Two years ago i travelled to Spa Samui in Thailand and did a 7 day fasting / cleasning program. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and at the end felt i could easily do a few more days. I booked to stay at Detox Marbella (Vortex Vitaal) in Autumn 05. I traveled from Greece to stay at the RETREAT. I was very disappointed with the whole experience. For a start, my room didn't have it's own bathroom. I had booked and paid for a room with its own bathroom , and their website clearly advertises, (and still advertises) an en-suite bathroom, but I did not find out until I got there, that the bathroom I had was just off the living room. This was not very private, especially as it was the only bathroom that was not en-suite to a bedroom. This meant other guests wanted to use it too. It was a chance text from my sister, inviting me to visit Detox Marbella or Vortex Vitaal that led to my recent trip to Marbella - being my 4th detox in as many years. Somehow 50 weeks of filling the body with typical Western foodstuffs it doesn't deserve, followed by two weeks of intense cleansing might not be the perfect solution to long term health, but still it is better than nothing!
