A great team - would happily recommend them

I was referred to Croydon Physiotherapy following a car accident in which I sustained whiplash to my shoulder. It had been months since the whiplash (because these insurance process to tend to take a long time) and my right shoulder was causing me a lot of discomfort and was getting stiff and making a lot of bizarre clicking noises. The problems had started to affect my middle back because they had been left so long.

The reception staff called me to make the initial appointment and I cannot fault them at all. They were friendly, and very helpful. They asked how I would be getting to Addington Palace and offered me very accurate directions, which I thought was incredibly kind. And they also offered directions once inside the building. Which came in very handy as it is rather confusing once in the building.

It is easily accessible by car, and there are plenty of parking spaces. It is also very easily accessible by tram from Croydon town centre, you simply cross the road and walk up the path to get there.

The building itself is slightly run down and in need of a good paint job to say the least, but Croydon Physio probably just rent their little space downstairs and I doubt have any influence over the main reception areas.

I have been seeing Joe who is a young guy, probably in his late 20s, who is very friendly and kind, and incredibly knowledgeable. It is pretty obvious that he has a passion for what he does, and while he does not baffle you with the science, if you ask him a question he will explain everything to you very carefully and thoroughly.

As a young girl, I was pretty apprehensive about seeing a guy and being down to just my vest. But in all honesty, they have seen it before and they don't care. They are incredibly professional, and I felt at ease immediately.

The initial assessment is just to ascertain how you were injured and the extent of the injury. I was given an exercise to do at home, and another appointment a week later, so I left very happy indeed. As the weeks progressed, the exercise changed, and Joe would help stretch out the injured tissue, which felt wonderful.

My treatment is still ongoing to date, but I am more than happy with the treatment provided here at Croydon Physio. They are professional, and very kind and always try and fit you in an appointment to work around your life and commitments. They even work late - until 9pm some night to fit everyone in! When they have booked your appointment they will email it to you, and even send you a reminder a couple of days before the appointment.

In terms of cost, my costs are covered by the insurance, so my comments should be applied simply to the service provided. And let's face it, if you're in pain you are willing to pay pretty much anything to put it right. However, I do know that it is £35 per consultation. If you cancel the appointment 24 hours or less before it's due then you will be charged. Which is fair enough.

I would not hesitate to recommend these guys to anyone, and if I needed physio that I had to pay for this would be my first port of call.
