Glitz Beauty is a small beauty salon situated in the Village of Skellow just outside of Doncaster and is easily accessible from all over Yorkshire. The salon is situated in an extension to a family home and it gives it far more personal feel than going into a chain salon on the high Street.

Despite the salon being situated at someone's house, it is a very professional set up and I was surprised the first time I visited at just how professional it was. There is a main room where treatments such as makeup and nails are done and a separate private room for treatments such as waxing and tanning.

The salon is run by two lovely ladies, Andrea and Rachel who provide award winning treatments at affordable prices. They are fantastic at their job and have won numerous awards and Glitz is only one of 12 salons in Great Britain to have gained Premier Status with Calgel for their nail treatments.

They offer a wide range of treatments which include:

- Facials
- Manicures
- Pedicures
- Nail art
- Nail enhancements
- Tanning
- Make up application
- Waxing
- Eyelash and eyebrow tinting
- Eyelash extensions

Their prices are very competitive and they offer a wide range of discounts, such as 15% off bridal packages and student discounts, along with loyalty discounts.

I have used the salon quite regularly over the last couple of weeks in the run up to my wedding. I first contacted the salon by email and Andrea gave me a ring to discuss my requirements. They are very good at responding to emails and do so out of hours. I visited to talk through the treatments I needed and booked in for a few appointments and they were very accommodating when I didn't have much of a window to go to the salon.

The first treatment I had done was my nails, I had Calgel sculptures which are absolutely fantastic, you wouldn't believe that they weren't my own nails. I was amazed with the attention to detail, and at just £45 it was far less than I would have paid for the same treatment elsewhere.

My next treatment was to have my eyebrows waxed, and again, the attention to detail was second to none, not a stray hair was left and I walked out with lovely reshaped brows. In the past I have always gone to Mint for my eyebrows done but I think I will certainly be a convert to Glitz for them now. Everything felt much more personal, and they ladies are happy to sit and chat away throughout the treatments, at just £4.95 for the wax it was a bargain compared to the normal £8 I pay.

Glitz are also doing my wedding makeup, so I went for a trial before my hen weekend, and was amazed at the results. They use Jane Iredale make up which is mineral based and allows your skin to breathe. The make up application took around and hour and everything was written down so that the same products can be used on the big day. It felt like a lot of make up was being used but the end result looked so natural and I was over the moon with the look they had achieved, so much so that all my bridesmaids are now booking in there to get theirs done on the day.

I cannot speak highly enough about the salon, they have transformed the way I feel about beauty treatments and the salon feels like a second home at the minute! I would certainly recommend them to anyone in the Yorkshire area who is looking at having bridal makeup, or any other treatments. I know I will be using them for a long time to come!
