      Very helpful

Great day out, lots of facilities & very clean.

I have visited Les Bains de Lavey in Switzerland, twice now and would thoroughly recommend it to anybody. I am not the kind of person who would usually want to visit a spa, but when my Dad took my Mum, sisters and I here last April, we loved it.

The pools of the spa are filled with thermal water which is kept at a constant relaxing temperature all year round.

The entrance fees are pretty reasonable for a full day out 24chf gets one adult 3 hours in the spa. They accepted my english NUS card giving me a discount of 3chf. Children over 4 years old are permitted but should obviously adhere to suitable behaviour as it is a spa not a water park.

Entrance to the unisex changing rooms is gained by swiping an electronic card given to each client. The changing rooms are cleaned regularly and have plenty of locker space available (no need to bring change with you, the locker is operated with the keycard). There are also plenty of mirrors and free to use hairdryers available.

Inside the building is a pool which, on the hour plays classical music underwater, you lie on floats with your ears under the water to listen to the relaxing music. There are also Hammam Turkish steam rooms, one large unisex one and two separate sex, naturist ones!

Outside there is a small pool alongside the main pool which has all sorts of jacuzi areas, a whirlpool and bubble beds inside of it. There is an inside area of saunas with a cold plunge pool and an ice cave room, this is my favourite but gosh is it cold!

There are plenty of sunbeds available outside, although I haven't ever used them since I have payed to enjoy the spa.

      See website for more details.

I drove to the spa the first time I visited, it is about 25 minutes drive from Montreux, but when I went with my boyfriend last week (and yes he did enjoy it!) we got the train. The nearest station is St Maurice, then you get the train from the post office which is on the station car park. The bus takes about 10 minutes and cost us 3chf each, I am not sure if it was supposed to be a return ticket but the driver let us on with the same ticket on the return journey. The bus drops you right on the carpark for the spa, timetables are available on the website.
