“ These spas aim to revive the body as well as the spirit „
I've been to the Sandals spa's in Jamaica a couple of times now and can honestly say they are wonderful and well worth the money. I had a split level suit the first time I stayed and a beach front room the second time , the suits are OK but unless you plan to spend a vast time in your room ( honeymooners perhaps !) its not worth the extra money . The room was excellently furnished with colourful bedding and lovely dark wood furniture and it was well looked after by the cleaning staff. I found the security of the spa very good especially beach wise as the last thing you want is to be constantly hounded by the locals if you happen to stick your toe in the sea, when I was there they had armed guards patrolling the length of the beach at the entrance and exits of the spa, yes it's well worth having them there I can assure you . The spa itself was very good with many restaurants to eat at and snacks always available , the array of fresh fruits, vegetables and well cooked meals was exceptional and I was very impressed by the standard of the food items . The spa itself had tons and tons of treatments to try as well as a hairdressers, make-up artist and manicurists always ready to make you look that extra bit special for the evenings when you can eat by the sea in one of there stir fry restaurants . As for exercise classes , these are held on the beach and in the sea /pool every day , just to get you up and moving after a nights dancing or just falling off the bar stools having downed just that bit 'to much ' ooooooooooooops. As well as limbo dancing on th beach and water volley ball there other more refined places to exercise like the golf course, badminton and squash courts and of course a well equipped gym . If your like me you want to not only get a super tan but tone up your 'lack-luster body' at the same time go for a beach activity and have a giggle with the rest of the unfit people . Be warned everything is included so you tend to go a bit 'over board' with the drinks which adds pounds to your waistline and not from your wallet , I tried to stick to fresh fruit juices laced with the occasional rum or coconut based drink but its so very hard especially if your a person who likes drink when away from work and on holiday. In all Sandals is one of my favourite land based spas holidays , its quiet , relaxing , the staff and management cannot do enough for you , the treatment on offer are at exceptional prices and as for the sport of offer, well you name it and they have you playing your favourite sport before th days over ....or as I did , have ago at all the things you've always wanted a go at but found in the UK was just to expensive to try on a whim . Yes, Sandals is expensive ,' but you pays for what you get ' and at sandals you get it all .
