Advantages: EVERYTHING!

Disadvantages: Nothing.

Although I moved away from Swindon nearly seven years ago I still go home often enough to necessitate having a trusted beautician in the area. I'm sure that many people reading this will understand how it is, you wake up one morning and notice that your eyebrows are taking over half of your face or the weather is suddenly really hot and you desperately need your legs waxed. And you can't just trust anyone to do these things. Waxing is painful, the last thing you want is to bare yourself to some kind of sadistic beautician from hell. It also takes a long time for the hair to grow back, if they mess up your eyebrows it will be a month before you fix them. This is serious business! I have been going to Tutta Bella since 2006 and go there a couple of times a year. They are always my first choice for beauty salon in Swindon.

-Booking-
Booking is very easy. If you're lucky and it's a quiet day you can sometimes go in and get an appointment immediately if not then you can either book an appointment by going into the salon or you can call them. I've never had any problem getting through to them on the phone and even when they can't fit me in on my preferred day or time they always seem to try to get me in as close to it as possible.

-The Salon-
Tutta Bella is located in the Outlet Village in Swindon. It was the convenience of the location that first attracted me to Tutta Bella. I was preparing for a holiday and rushing around trying to buy everything that I needed at the last minute when I realised that I hadn't had any waxing done. I was able to get a last minute appointment (although this isn't always possible now that they're more established).

The location does have its downsides too. Of course it's great that you can go to the beautician between shops but it is really embarassing when you run into someone you know (especially if it happens to be an attractive someone) and the top of your lip or your chin is red. Either they'll work out your secret, without waxing you would be the bearded lady, or they'll think you have some kind of strange rash on your face.

The salon is one of the nicest that I've ever been in. The decor is very warm and cozy. I often go in and think that it's how I woud like my bedroom to be decorated. Dim lighting usually really annoys me but because I go there to relax I like it. Everything about the salon screams (or should that be whispers?) relaxation and comfort. The music is always soft and in the background. The beds are comfortable and the blankets (for facials) are soft and warm.

-Staff-
They are so nice. I've always found them to be very friendly and polite. When my dad died I went in for some waxing and a facial. I wasn't in the best of moods and if I'm completely honest I was probably quite moody at first. They were so friendly to me, even when I wasn't being friendly back. I actually left feeling much better than I had when I went in, which is in part due to them being so kind and understanding. The woman who owns the salon did my facial and she was just perfect. I told her that my dad had just died and she seemed to know all of the right things to say and also seemed to know that I didn't necessarily want to talk, I just wanted to relax. I think it's a good quality in a beautician to know when to talk and when to keep quiet.
The first time I had a facial they really took time to find out what I wanted out of the facial and my reason for having one. When you go in there, regardless of what treatment you're having or how much money you're spending they treat you like you matter, they immediately put you at ease and make you feel welcome.

-Treatments-
The only treatments I have ever had in Tutta Bella are waxing and facials.

There was one time when I was unhappy with the waxing, I found that there were still quite a few hairs left but apart from that one time I have always been very happy. I even trust them with my eyebrows. They always follow the natural shape of my eyebrows, which is what I like and never take too much off of the length.

Their facials are great. I always go for the hour one, although in reality it's usually longer. She always adapts the routine for whatever I need, so if my skin is dry she will focus on moisturising or if it's congested then she will focus on cleansing. The whole experience is just lovely. It's so relaxing. It usually includes steaming, cleansing, a mask, moisturising and a face massage that leaves me feeling complete relaxed and sometimes close to falling asleep. When she's done she leaves you to get up at your own pace, no rushing you out or hurrying you.
The room is always at the perfect temperature for a facial. At first I always feel too hot, especially when she gives me a blanket and puts the steamer on but you do cool down during the facial and then the temperature feels perfect (as does the blanket).
The facial always leaves my skin feeling extra clean, soft and smooth and this feeling usually lasts for about a week, sometimes longer if I don't return to London right away (nothing like the tube to make you feel icky).

-Prices-
Another great thing about Tutta Bella is that they're not expensive. I think their prices are really reasonable and cheaper than some beauty salons in Swindon that aren't half as good.

I'm not going to copy out the entire price list but just to give you an idea of how reasonable their prices are:

Manicures and Pedicures start from £10
Massages start from £20
Waxing starts from £5
Facials start from £25

-Recommended?-
I would highly recommend this beauty salon. For a friendly, relaxing experience with talented beauticians this is certainly the right beauty salon.
