Lenco High Power iPod Tower
by BlueOcean I'd been looking at getting an iPod dock for ages when I came across this speaker tower. It looked really impressive and so I bought mine from Amazon for about £95. THE PACKAGING The speaker tower came securely packaged along with a remote control, an instruction manual and an audio cable. The instruction manual was ... really easy to follow although I managed to do most of the set up without them as it is fairly straightforward. TE LOOK The tower has a very modern, stylish design. The front and top is black while the sides are a glossy red plastic which looks great against the black. At the top is a slot for holding the iPod along with the buttons. All the buttons are clearly labelled with white coloured text above each and a symbol on each button. On the left is input and time, on the right are the volume control buttons and in the center are the play, rewind etc buttons located directly below the on/off switch. The speakers are quite large and measure 30.5 x 30.5 x 91.5cm so do take up quite a bit of space. They weigh 7.1 kg so aren't that easy to move around. THE USAGE The speakers are very easy both to install and to use. They can be turned on and off with a simple press of the button. Most functions can be controlled with the buttons at the top including fast forward, rewind, skip, repeat, search, mute and volume. There is also a standby function although I try not to use this in order to save electricity. All of these can also be controlled by the remote control which is very convenient and the speakers are very responsive to the remote. THE FEATURES These speakers have a wide variety of features and are more like a multimedia system than just speakers. While your iPod or iPhone is placed in the dock the speakers will charge the device while it's playing so you don't have to worry about running out of charge. The speakers have numerous connections including USB, SD and AUX as well as the iPod interface which allow you to use them a laptop or computer, an iPod and also CD's and DVD's to play music making them highly versatile. These are all located at the top of the speakers on the side so are easy to access. The USB also allows data to be transferred rapidly. The speakers pick up FM radio and have a FM wire antenna and 60 stations preset so you can tune in straight away. The signal is really clear with a good sound. There is also a sleep timer which allows you to decide when you want the speakers to stop and ranges from 10mins all the way up to 120mins. The sound quality is absolutely brilliant and by far the best thing about these speakers. There is an equalizer which allows you to adjust the bass and treble although it takes a bit of trial and error. Overall this a well-made and high quality item which is excellent value for the price paid. I have had no problems so far and would definitely recommend. Read the complete review |

Lenco High Power iPod Tower
by OJEtchells10 There's no doubt the Lenco high power ipod tower looks good. It stands about a metre off the ground but i am always wary of products like this because usually if the products looks really good, it will either be stupidly expensive or there will be something wrong with the quality of sound. At around £100 i thought i might be buying a ... rubbish speaker that looks really good but actually it works well for the moeny, in any case if it was made by Bose or another big name brand i bet the price would be about £150 for the same speaker. Building upwards is a technique that has been tried before in the speaker market. It saves space by making the width of the speaker smaller so you can fit it into smaller spaces. The speaker is not difficult to set up only taking a few minutes but every time you turn the system off and on it goes back to default settings so you have to fiddle around to get it back to your method of input which can can be annoying. The speaker is plit up into two with a 25W speaker and 30W subwoofer. The sound quality is not top of the range, but this is not a top of the range speaker. It does come with an FM radio but unless you don't have a radio on one of your devices by now it's not a very good feature as it is low quality. If i was paying £200 i would be dissapointed but in terms of value for money it's really good. The speaker has a small LED display which is quite dim and the controls are a bit fidely. Also the speakers remote is made of plastic and feels a bit cheap and chunky. Despite a few flaws this is speaker i'd say is definetly worth the money. There are better out there for more of your money but most of all it sounds good for what it's worth and will look swish in your bedroom. Read the complete review |

Lenco High Power iPod Tower
by sam_toland I ordered this product from amazon after seeing one displayed in my local HMV. The main draw to the product is not only its looks, which I personally feel are beautiful, but also its sound quality which can rival that of companies such as BOSE, and at a third of the price I don't think you could ask for more. Not only that but the ... product has an iPod/iPhone charging dock, a 60 preset radio, an AUX port and a side USB port for playing music for a USB drive. This means that you get so much versatility in how you can play music from this product it blows competitors out of the water. Furthermore it comes with a small black remote which works perfectly, even in controlling the music playing from your iPod. After purchasing this a couple of my friends saw it and wanted to buy the same, by which time amazon were sold out. So my advice would be to buy this amazing product while stocks still last, because at this price, they won't. Read the complete review |
