I have had these speakers for about 12 months now and i am very impressed by them.They take about 20hrs or so of use to run them in.The sound quality is fantastic for the price, i am using them in my home studio for producing music.They are very well built and good looking.They are active monitors which means the amp is built into the speaker which saves having to wire them up to an amp,they just plug straight in to my mixing desk.

Value:
For the money, this is a great investment for your studio. Hey, if you have no limit on money, I would of course say buy a pair of monitors that are legendary, but if you are on a budget -- the Alesis will do the job with ease.


Sound:
Sound excellent. They sound transparent but not too thin- music does sound good through them if it's been produced well.You can really tell the difference when listening to the same song on a different set of speakers.They capture all of the frequencies perfectly and give off a nice bass that is not too overpowering.

Downside:
I did quiet a bit of research before buying these and some people had a few problems with them, i think there may have been a batch sold that had dodgy electrical components, so bear that in mind if you are buying a pair second hand, you may get a dodge pair.Also they could have placed the power switch in a better posistion, it is situated on the back which makes it difficult to locate when switching on and off.

Overall i am impressed by them, i have listened to many other monitors in this price range and can safly say that none of them come close to matching these for sound quality.
