Advantages: Good flat response reference speakers
Disadvantages: none
I bought a pair of these for my music room as I needed a pair of active monitors for my home studio. Good reference speakers are essential for any home studio and these had got some good reviews. I was not disappointed. They are mounted on wall brackets at ear level, and the fact they are bi wired makes for excellent audio separation. They are well screened too, so laptops and mobiles don't seem to interfere they way they do with consumer gear (although it has to be said these are aimed at the home studio). I run 3 analog synths, an electric piano and an Edirol FW66 and macbook through it via a TAPCO mixer. Sounds great and well worth the money.
I'm using the xlr jacks for low noise.
All in all I'd say these are an ideal low cost solution to audio referencing in the studio - there's not much better for the price.
