I got blessed with 295 for free. it sounds great! but the 9pin connector that goes to the back of the woofer: some of the pins seem to be worn down: I have to shake it til I get a good connection. I would like some advice on what to do about it, since I really like the system. I use my ipod and my computer on it. sounds great. Should I buy new satellites or can the 9 pin connector be fixed? Going back to 2000, I purchased the Altec Lansing 3 piece speaker set for my PC second hand from a computer fair for £15. I was quite shocked and still am to this day with the clarity considering it's price. Reliability seems genuinely honest with only a component speaker cable failing after some 5+ years of everyday use which was an easy fix. Although the design is simple, it's effective and user friendly. The subwoofer application has it's own amplitude adjustment aswell as the main component having its own bass adjustment control which in reality allows some mid range alterations... In a few short words, the sound output is crisp, full of vocals with a wide range of lower subwoofer frequencies which to me is what a sound system is all about. Don't get me wrong, it's not a 5.1 surround sound unit and it won't run a disco, but it's more than adequate for cranking up great songs whislt retaining clarity...If your purchasing one of these altec lansing units, Enjoy!
