Two years on and still going! I picked these up for forty pounds and could not be happier. At first I thought they would work on my TV, foolishly! Make sure your PC is compatible before buying is my advice. This means checking your sound card.
The bass on this set of speakers is phenomenal, you can hear my music from quite a distance away so be sure to be on good terms with the neighbours.
As surround sound speakers go this is a bargain and I couldn't be happier.
They are reliable, loud, crisp and they send a shiver down your spine when you watch war films.
It's very easy to set them up and the cable remote helps to adjust settings easily.
I honestly don't have any problems with these and can recommend them to everyone! Great for parties, however make sure to turn them down if you want to chat!
If you want an affordable surround sound system for a computer, this isn't a bad option. Just do not think that you will be getting a highly sophisticated system that you can use for home cinema.
The beauty of this system, is that everything is both small and cheap. Meaning if your computer is in a small space: you can easily have a decent surround sound experience. It's made clear that they are only for use over a small area as the rear speaker cables are very short. But then, it's very clear these are not a home cinema speakers.
For what they are, however, Creative have made a nice set of speakers. There's plenty of volume - rarely does they distort sound, even at full volume. The bass levels are excellent and easily adjustable using the dial built into a small cabled remote. Cabled?! Well thats because you can plug another audio source into it. But yes, it is a bit irritating having another unnecessary cable.
As a budget system your only adjustment options are volume and bass. The rest is pre-set. Which for a budget system is acceptable
I bought these speakers for my games, and music and I wasn't dissapointed. They are surround sound and when playing a game I can now hear people behind me. Also the subwoofer is so powerful, when I am in a tank, the floor vibrates as the tank does to add to the experience.
Music is also very good, it delivers some good bass lines, and the tweeters do justice to the higher sounds. I can turn it up and immerse myself in the music. One feature that I like is the line in port, which means if you buy a line in cable for £2 on eBay, you can plug your mp3 player in and play it, without having the computer on, although only two speaker and the subwoofer work then, though that is enough. One problem with teh music is that I have to change the bass on the controller when switching from games to music as it can have the tendency to deliver a funny noise on some mid range sounds.
The only other problems I have found are that the rear speaker cables weren't long enough, and I had to buy some phono extension leads from Maplins. The other was that the sound controller is quite sensitive and if knocked can suddenly go very loud or very quite.
These can be picked up for around £50 and are well worth buying. Note these can only be connected to a computer.
these speakers are fantastic for the price. they are so powerful. literally we only need two speakers and the subwoofer and it nearly blew our ears off. Have had speakers before but nothing like these. try them they are fantastic!!!
