Modern technology has come on in leaps and bounds and computers are getting smaller and more efficient. We van watch tv, stream films and play music all from the one device, however the speakers they have built in are inept and very poor quality. The sound performance is abysmal and I was very disappointed with the speakers on my notebook. Just because I want a smaller machine doesn't mean I don't want it to make as much noise!
I saw these speakers and thought they would be the perfect companion for my notebook and easier to carry round than a large speaker. Despite these speakers being small, they have a lot of power and I was really happy with my purchase.

The speakers cost me £25.99 and I bought them through Amazon.co.uk.
The speakers are light and perfect for travelling. They fit neatly inside the lap top bag with the machine. They are designed to clip onto the top of the notebook, gripping the top of the machine. The machine needs to be no thicker than 1.5 inches to fit on top. The clip is rubberised to protect the screen. I probably would advise not using these speakers if there is 1cm or less of casing around the screen of the lap top, I would not want it resting against the screen for fear of damaging it. Although it does not have much of a tight fit. When the speakers are on, lifting or moving the lap top will dislodge the speakers and they will fall off. You can use the clip as a sort of stand, so that you can use the speakers with an mp3 player or with the laptop but not resting on top of it.
To power the speakers there is a number of options. You can use the battery pack to power it, this has four AA batteries in it. It advises that you should get around 30 hours out of these. You can also run it off the USB of the lap top, this is my preferred option. If you wanted to, there is also an option to connect it to the mains with an Ac adapter but there is not one included in the set.
The sound quality is fantastic and when watching a film with the speakers on top, the sound is crisp and clear. The speakers use the line in option that connects to the headphone jack of the lap top. Obviously if the sound card of the laptop is poor, the speakers can't do much to improve it. However, on the whole I'm really pleased with their performance and whenever using my laptop for media purposes I always use the speakers. I would advise people not to be put off with the size of these speakers; they are much more powerful than they look.
There is a volume control at the top of the device so you can use this rather than the volume option on the media player. There are also some battery indication lights and for when it is connected to a power source.
I'm pleased with there speakers, they don't turn my living room into a nightclub but they do give a much louder, clearer sound than the regular built in speakers. Four stars from me!
