... fireing bass reflex system, which means that the bass port of the speakers is on the bottom, hence why they stand on spikes. And also Birewire terminals. The sound of these speakers has been superb for my use, as i said previously i use these as the rear speakers in my surround sound setup they are incredibly crisp. They provide a surprising amount of bass while not being too 'boomy' and still keeping the high end frequences crisp and clear. I first came across these speakers while looking around richersounds for some rear speakers for my newly aquired surround sound amplifier, that I had luckily bought from a friend for a beer! Best currency in the world! These Eltax Monitor III's were on sale at the time I bought them (Christmas 2006) for £60 down from £130 and for that price they are superb. Some of you might be thinking that these aren't rear speakers or are too big for this purpose, which was my 1st thoughts towards them.
